2016 09 24 Meeting Summary

Queue:

Meeting Notes for Saturday August 13 at 5PM GMT on Discord

Releases

Frequency - We’re in favor of a semi-annual release instead of a quarterly one. Quarterly releases presume the optimistic version of a workflow TR doesn’t currently have, centered around assembling finished and reviewed claims.1612 should be released on schedule as a bugfix release, but afterwards TR should move to 1 release every 6 months.

Tamriel Rebuilt 1609

  • Everything Atrayonis updates will be found here http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/forum/tr1609-checklist
  • Announcement post, who will take care of it? Gnomey will try to take care of it, if Gnomey can’t Kaziem will.
  • Atrayonis will work on the readme and correct the region map.
  • Kaziem will be collecting feedback on the Video Scripts, but also on the FAQ and “our policy on VV edits” and will compile and post those when done.

Factions

We’re going to discuss faction unification more. Part one is guilds; discussion should be collected here: http://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/forum/faction-unification-brainstorming-guilds

Asset Workflow

Writing/Quest assets need to be reviewed twice (i.e. once each by two different people) to move on. Atrayonis will eventually automate the review process thusly:

[Push button] -> “Pending First Review” ->“Under First Review” -> “Pending Final Review” -> “Under Final Review” -> “Ready for Merging”

Reviewers will be able to do this as well.

Self-contained faction quests do not have to wait for the completion of the respective faction questline, but should be judged and included on a case-by-case basis. Something to look out for is the quest conflicting with the characterization of the faction, which becomes especially problematic if the faction’s characterization has not been set in stone.

New quest interiors should be handled like normal interiors, that is, proposed in the applicable thread and, if not vetoed within a week, put up as a claim for interior developers to claim. The quest claimant, if also an interior developer, should ideally be given priority for the claim. Edits to existing interiors can simply be handled by the quest developer as part of the quest claim.

Hortator Quests

We agree that all Houses should offer Hortator quests, though the player will not necessarily need to be recognized by all of the Houses to fulfill the prophecy.

A majority (3 houses) should be enough, but all 5 houses should be completable in one playthrough.

No consensus was reached on the Ashlander tribes, with currently 3 more on the mainland, and the possibility of adding additional ones in a reworked Telvannis.
