This is now open for NPC claiming.

I would like to claim this.
I forget if I'm allowed to grant an NPC claim to myself.

Couple of things re: Dreynim Spa, I've modified the lower of the two 'outside pools' a tad, so that it now uses the actual water rather than fake water, which will always look tacky. This just involved lowering all associated objects and the nearby terrain by a small amount, looks fine. But just letting you know. I also tweaked the design so that rather than using about 12 or so individual blocks (all of which had very strong shading at the corners, making the whole construct look very blocky and ugly), the walkway around the pool just uses four 'pier' pieces, for much greater smoothness.
Secondly, Nomadic, what is the upper of the two exterior pools meant to be? The 'waterfall spray' items just 'floating there' look quite odd in game, and do weird things graphically in close proximity to the fake water. If we want to keep it, it would be helpful to know what you actually intended this pool to be! (I'm not a spa veteran)

The top one was supposed to be a small, hot outside pool. I never found an appropriate steam mesh.

First update; Dreynim and Dreynim Spa NPCd, no dialogue. Slow times...
Again, for NPCing Indoril areas it would be useful to have those Indoril shirts and other items of useful clothing included in Data... (unless they already are and I'm just using an outdated version)
|
I am waiting for the elusive Necrom Temple to be completed before the next batch update of TR_Data. Adan mentioned, a certain paper aside, it should maybe hopefully be finished tonight. So it shouldn't be too long. Maybe this weekend I will get to update TR_Data with a bunch of new stuff.
Zanammu is the only other "settlement" in this claim, right? Aside from some other small interiors, etc.

There's also a small 5 int town on the coast, and another small town deep in the mountains to the north.

Yeah, it's a small-time place. There's Seitur (coastal) and Tahvel (mountainy), and the Nethril Plantation's sizable, but otherwise it's just various manors and farms. A lot of small things but no real big ones.
Also yeah, Zanammu, what's the deal there? Oh, and Bisandaryon, which we agreed would not suit a hideout of weird Indorils. Do I make them big dungeons, or is there other stuff meant to be going down?

I still believe Bisandryon should function as an Indoril fortress, a regular one, but I seem to be alone in that.

Updated file, I'm working my way through the ints alphabetically, and their corresponding exteriors when needed. No dialogue as yet.
I will be on holiday for two weeks, but am taking my laptop so progress should hopefully continue somewhat.

Finished(ish), with caveats.
1) Bisandryon. Place is a bit of a quandry, will discuss with core.
2) Seitur needs a quest. I hate misc quests. If anyone wants to throw an extra one in for Dreynim, the place could use it, and the present one is terribly generic (but we need a few like that I guess)
Otherwise, fully NPCd, dialogued and quested.
Oh and 3) quests not yet tested, because I forgot to take the Morrowind CD on holiday.
2) and 3) random readers can help with. Please do!
In terms of quests, we have 1 in Dreynim, 1 in Tahvel and 3 in the wilderness. (1 relating to Zanammu, 1 in Harrumat Diamond Mine and 1 relating to the Nethril Plantation given in Daedric shrine Zalgothrabu)
The Zalgothrabu one is slightly 'quirky' but it's clearly signposted as such, being given by Sheogorath worshippers.

I've had a run through this. You've done some pretty cool stuff. I'm no NPCer or quester and I wasn't thorough, but I've a few thoughts and so forth.
Dreynim Spa:
- Nice simple quest. Might give people the shits trying to find the cave, but that's what the LO is all about.
- The hotel. I should have done this in detailing, but IMO there are two changes that should be made. First one is the doorjamb arches need to be removed from the stairs. My PC Dunmer couldn't walk up them. Second one is the kitchen and restaurant downstairs should be removed. There's a much better restaurant building at the Spa, and it really doesn't need a doubled-up one in the basement. The NPCs could easily be moved there.
- I love the changes made to the exterior. I don't know who did them, but it's really been improved.
- Could do with more guests / NPCs. It did feel a bit empty, and this was pointed out constantly when I talked to any of the workers there who commented on the place being fully booked. Maybe even one or two slaves to clean the place, a few guards, or even personal bodyguards.
Dreynim:
- Probably needs a guard or two. The shack villages on the Bitter Coast had guards.
- The trader's shack is unlocked.
- The trader and the head shipwright mention themselves in "someone in particular".
Zanammu:
- Another thing I should've fixed when I detailed it, but I got lost playtesting it then and gave up so I didn't find it. In the Collapsed Passages, it was impossible for me to walk under the one of the MH-sewer arches from the entrance from Tier Three (?).
- Love the quest and the beefed up skellies. But couldn't finish it. I found the guy but he and the skellies around him were unconcious. So I killed the skeletons (one wouldn't die though. Was that a bug) and the guy wouldn't wake up. Talking to the wise woman or the champion didn't help me at all. So I started punching him *shrugs*
- Is the grate thing in the doorway near him supposed to move? Could cause problems for players who get there from the collapsed passages, since they fall down a pit to get there. And the PC is supposed to give the recall amulet to the guy.
- The numbered tiers could probably do with a rename.

Meant to press "preview" and not reply.
Tahvel:
- Simple quest Gives a bit of insight to the way of the Indorils
- One of the doormarkers needs adjusting upwards. I got stuck on one of the stairs leaving it.
Nethril Plantation:
- Love how I got told off for just happily walking into the tower. Reminds of when I got told off for going into that changing cubicle at the Spa I love it!
Sadavel Plantation:
- Might need a guard or two. Who's to stop me freeing the slaves and killing those nobles?
General Lan Orethan:
- There's a bandit camp in the southeast of the forest which you mustn't have found. It's located right near the rowboat on the little stream that comes out of the Sirrilas daedric shrine.
- It might have quest potential (just throwing it out there). If you cross the creek, you come to a small tunnel through the mountains to the Nedothril Coast. Its a good way for a smuggler to avoid the outpost on the main road.
Hunted Hound Inn:
- Could maybe do with a second or more patrons. Pilgrims on their way to Necrom / Almalexia? Someone from Seitur or one of the farms having a drink with company? An adventurer? Bandit/smuggler visiting civilisation? A guard against bandits?
Seitur:
- Nice characters
- There's an unlocked, empty house
- Again, might need a guard. Its not dangerous, but it isn't the safest part of the world.
Other stuff:
- "Lost Shack" doesn't sound right. Who'd lose that shack, or even care about it?
- I thought the monastery was deserted when I first went in

Thanks for the review, very thorough.
This file fixes all those issues I think, and all quests should now be working at maximum efficiency.
'Lost Shack' is just because the CS doesn't like it if too many things have the same name, so you have to start scraping the barrel after a while. (Technically I could get away with it if there was no cell with the same name (e.g. Abandoned Shack) in this .esp, and I got lucky in that when loaded together the interiors of this and any other 'abandoned shack' didn't overlap - but it's better form to at least try and avoid problems)

K, I've played through your latest file, and made sure to find and do the other two quests:
Diamond Mine:
- You are a very, very evil man. I suppose this might possibly be the first time a player would be glad they chose the Tower as their birthsign
- You might be glad to know I had to check the CS to find it
Daedric Shrine Quest:
- It was funny. I love it
All the problems and so forth I mentioned are fixed. The spa could do with a few more guests, but what you've done across the claim looks perfect.
"Derelict Shack", "Deserted Shack"?

Rotting Shack? Forgotten Shack? Or you could call it Abandoned Shack and put a space after it or something.
So this is the second map 3 NPC claim completed (almost completed)? Hurray for progress!

Ha, well I might want to change the key's position perhaps... I know that Detect Key is disappointingly ineffective in this game. But then I don't want to make it too easy.
I might see if I can squeeze in a few more guests at the Spa. Anywhere feel particularly empty?

I think Dreynmi spa may be okay, you probably dont want to many NPC's at a nice place like that.
btw, Which Daedric ruin has the quest that Nomadic is talking about?

I thought that was your intention. The proper reward for the quest isn't where the real moolah lies - its whatever spawns in the hands of the golden saint. Therefore it needs to be hard.
One way around it would be that once he mentions the key, if the woman at the front of the mine has perfect disposition, she'll mention that she dropped some useless key she found around there somewhere (otherwise dismissing the rambling as nonsense and mocking the PC for taking heed of it). It'll give the idea but will still maintain the difficulty.
| Quote: |

The bar in the northern wing was deserted apart from the bartender. So was the room and general area with the four baths in it. Also perhaps the interior of the hotel - maybe one or two guests in there? I dunno, I know you're good.
BTW: I noticed on my last run through that one of the rooms of the Hunted Hound was unlocked. Is that the room the PC gets to rent?
| RelinQ wrote: |

Starts with Z. Head north following the road from the monastery near the Nethril Plantation. When it takes a sharp turn to the west into the mountains, fly over the rocks to the north of the bend. Its under the mountain accessed from the north side.

Along with what Nomadic said, maybe one or two more bathers at the outside pools. Also why is that guy in the green "towel" wearing his "towel" while in the pool?

It's still kinda waiting on Bisandryon discussion. (and a misc plan for Seitur)
In any event, I'm not going to have much time to work on this (or much at all) in the near future, so if someone privy to those discussions would be up for wrapping this up, I'd be happy to hand it over.

Here’s an initial quest plan. If you use it you’ll probably have to switch the inn services provider at the Hunted Hound Inn from Ryamon Sevenas to his wife Tilme Sevenas (you’ll see why)
Manus the Redguard is an outlander immigrant to Morrowind who has opened a trade shop in Seitur. While he’s doing okay he could use more business and has been trying to get the owner of the nearby Hunted Hound Inn to steer some business his way. Unfortunately the owner Ryamon Sevenas won’t do it because he doesn’t like foreigners and only tolerates them in his inn because his wife Tilme Sevenas insists that it would be bad for business to refuse them. Manus will ask the player to go to Ryamon Sevenas and convince him to promote his shop in Seitur. The player will go to Ryamon but he will refuse to talk to the player and will direct him to his wife, saying she’s the one who deals with “godless westerners”. Conveniently, His wife doesn’t share her husband’s prejudice and will suggest to the player that her husband, a proper and pious mer, might warm up to Manus if he makes a small donation to the nearby Sinamen monastery. The player will take this idea back to Manus who will agree to trying it out as an investment. He’ll ask the player to deliver the gold for him with a note. After doing so the player will return to Manus who will thank him and ask the player to come back when he gets enough funds to repay him for his efforts. After that if the player talks to either Manus or Ryamon he will learn that Ryamon has begun directing road traffic towards Manuse’s shop due to his “proper gesture” and that the Redguard has seen a decent increase in revenue. The player will then be rewarded with some sort of reward.
On a side note, I remember working on the interior that you’ve made into the Sinamen monastery BC. It was one of my early ones however and got revoked due to massive amounts of fail on my part. It’s good that you didn’t use any of my lame original ideas for it; (Retired Ordinator, Daedra in the basement, Daedra worshipping daughter locked up in the basement…)

Well he has said before he has quest planning block sometimes. I don't think there's anything wrong with asking for help when it's needed. In the end, he's still doing most of the work anyway.

There's just a hell of a lot of stuff far more important than TR going on for me these days. I could fob you guys off with some 'fetch my ring' misc quest it takes 10 seconds to plan, but I'd rather someone else came up with something better. And I don't have the time or the enthusiasm for it.
Yeti, thanks for the plan, it works and again is good for Indoriliness (may tone down the aggressive foreigner hate, which should be more haughtiness and whatnot I think than outright) so I'll throw it up when I have time.

Sorry, don't rely on me to plan quests, even if I say I will. It's because I can't force myself to plan quests, they just come to me, so I like to know what quests need making all the time. That's why I pop up on loads of quest things and say I can make quests, so I know what needs doing, I'll try to be more clear about what I'm actually working on at the moment. Right now I'm re-doing the IAS questline, and after that I'm hoping to finish off the TG and EEC quest lines by fixing a quest or two. Unless I get some inspiration this isn't my priority right now.

Myzel- We never actually see slaves working on Vvardenfell either. They're always just standing there. If you ask me they deserve a good whipping.

If anyone wants to throw an extra one in for Dreynim, the place could use it, and the present one is terribly generic (but we need a few like that I guess) |
Are you still interested in having another quest for Dreynim? I'd be happy to make another plan for you do.

If you have the inspiration, go for it.
