I think these are what you are looking for. Not sure if they are the latest versions, though.

Woooow this stuff sounds fantastic - the strings especially sound fantastic considering they're sampled. What plug-in instrument did you use for this?

both songs (City's Heart, Enlightenment) are awesome! "Darkness" is kinda too repetitive and could become annoying with time. But the previous 2 songs posted here are great!
I'm guessing "City's Heart" could be used for Old Ebonheart, "Enlightenment" for Almalexia and "Darkness" for Necrom?
I know musics are generally played randomly during the game, but there must be a way, a cue or something, so a specific song start playing when you enter a zone or something. Kinda like the "battle" music cue.

By my knowledge (which is not very extensive) you cannot set the music files to specific regions. It's a shame, I know.

Actually yes you can set music to play for a specific place. check out the mod "Better Music System" it does exactly that. So you should be able to set a specific song to play for Old Ebonheart.

We are not planning on being dependant on MWSE. Even MCP is only recommended.

Yes but you dont need MWSE to run Better Music System. Even the in game commands to play a specific song or area does not need MWSE. The readme claims you need MWSE but it seems to work fine without it. I admit do use the code patch and that may have something to do with it I don't know. Perhaps im just grasping at air as the expression goes

Might you be using MGE? That includes a copy of MWSE.

Actually, you don't need MWSE to sctript music, the script command is in the original game (Streammusic, if I remember correctly). However, it is bugged to play at full volume in the original, something that MCP fixes. So, as TR will soon require MCP (due to the Almalexia naming crash bug), TR could have town-specific music playing.

Well, originally the vanilla music isn't scripted and Jeremy Soule composed it in a way, that the music can be played every time and everywhere.
For example, if we script a music track in Old Ebonheart, then you would hear only that specific track. And if you are in that town for quite some time you would hear that same track over and over again more than hundred of times; and that is atmosphere rape. Although the vanilla music system also sucks, because it's in a loop; you will hear the majestic Morrowind Theme in a creepy dungeon is also an atmosphere destroyer.
I would say that the music must adapt to Morrowind, not other way around.

StreamMusic command is different from what we were discussing with Not. StreamMusic would basically just stream one specific song over and over again, if used as regional music. That would feel way too moddy to me. I want to be able to hear Nerevar Rising when walking up to Mournhold.

Yeah I know. But I think that there are people who don't want Nerevar Rising to be played more than hundreds of times when going/leaving Mournhold... Scripted music is a difficult topic because of the musical preferences of the people, especially with scripted music played at specific locations.

Just in case Leon misinterpreted me, I shall clarify. I want to be able to hear all vanilla music when walking around and not just one Almalexia-specific track for the whole duration of wandering around Almalexia, unless Almalexia got a 2 hour long symphony that would not become too repetitive.
I steadily stand against the use of StreamMusic. It has been a nightmare in all of my encounters with it. Though, that was always before MCP.

I agree that having one song per town would be awful for atmosphere, I was just pointing out that region-specific tracks would be very possible. It would, with relatively easy scripting, be very easy to have different music suites for different regions, with 20 "explore" tracks in total, 5 of these used in Necrom 5 others (with some overlap) playing in Almalexia, 3 others playing in Port Telvannis, etc.
However, while a well thought-out version of such a system could work very nicely, you would need to have a fairly large suite of tracks available to avoid each town sounding the same and ensure each town/faction/whatever enough tracks available to avoid the same two tracks playing over and over in one location.

Well after reading all of this, I think I'm going to see if I can't expand on the Better Music System mod.
Thanks to Andres previous post, I'm well aware that it would require MWSE to get it to work the way I want it too. So I figure I'll just make it an entirely seperate mod from TR altogether and have it be an optional download as a file that basically compliments TR so to speak.
For those that don't know what the Better Music System is, it's basically a mod that lets you choose which song happens to play for a specific region. You can disable certain songs or play whatever songs at will. It will also have certain songs played for specific places such as Old Ebonheart etc.
Again this would be an optional download for those that want to play TR with a sort of expanded version of the Better Music System mod.
Phew, well that's about all I wanted to say. Hope my horrible grammar is readable to everyone here :p
Oh and one last thing; please understand that I'm not going to start work on this for quite a while. It's a project I'll be undertaking sometime in the faraway future.
