WIP, expect it to eventually look nothing like what is seen here aside from light settings and north.

It seems there are a few interiors that need to be updated, this is one of them so here is a WIP as I'll likely be gone on the weekend and that would be when you come calling of course.

I'll be away from the internet most of next week so I won't be able to update this but it will be getting some work done so if someone happens to finally call for updates please do not revoke this claim. I have put substantial time into this design and will be finishing this.

Yet another update. I know exactly where this is heading now. This is a rather ostentatious tomb, which seems to house either some highly religious bandit band, a vampire coven (rather boring, but an option), or some radical religous sect. It should contain tomb guardians in some of the rooms as well as the other inhabitants. The sect/religious bandits feel that this tomb has some sort of significance due to whose remains is housed here. It must be/have been an important family to allow for such a grand resting place.

I'm dropping this. Just can't come up with the inspiration to fill it.

The next claimant should give the shell a look before deciding to make a new one.

I'd like to claim this. I think tombs are fun, im on my mobile now so ill have to wait till im home to decide whether to use SamirA's file or not.

Aside from your standard tomby appearance, I'd like to make this tomb look a little more 'abandoned/neglected' than usual ie: vases on the floor, door left open cobwebs etc.

I also thought of an interesting idea for some backstory.

Inside would be a dead graverobber who was unknowingly robbing the graves of his own ancestors... Once he discovers this, he takes his own life, and becomes a bonelord himself. Inside a certain room the player will find his body, a typical bonelord (or ancestral ghost), a small note and a small sum of treasure gathered by the plunderer.

Can one just walk into a tomb and become a bonelord? I thought that required some Dunmeri holy necromancy or at least some action of others? Otherwise I like the backstory. With an ancestral ghost it would definitely work.

Due to its position, this tomb could break into a Daedric shrine. I don't know whether you want to do that, though (vanilla has this too, so it won't be completely new).

No to the backstory. This will remain unclaimed until you look at the file and come up with something more ideal. I will leave it in pending.

Alrighty then. In that case i'd like to do the exact same thing but minus the story for the character. I'd still like to have a dead looter inside tho, just without any name or story.

Added a decent chunk under the main floor, haven't done too much with the lower level yet, and probably won't as the ref number is already pretty high.

Added creatures. (non-level scaled)The undead in this tomb are fairly powerful given the size and location of it. I also added an expensive weapon at the end of the tomb as a reward for killing the 'boss' (TR plague lich (not sure if placing this is considered style mixing...)). I was always a little disappointed in vanilla with the lack of any real loot in the Velothi Tombs. Take a look at this and let me know if anyone thinks this is overkill.

In my personal opinion, if you want to make a boss lich, you should create a new creature based on the lich (with modified stats, loot and possibly spells) rather than taking the plague lich (a rather stupid residue from old TR).

Also, currently there are no respawning creatures in the tomb. If you want to add some (of course, not the boss, but usually tombs have at least some respawning enemies), look in the "Leveled creature" tab under "TR_stc_...". (If you are using the newest TR_Data.esm, then this should contain TR_stc_ancghost, TR_stc_skelarcher, TR_stc_bonelord and several other undead; greater bonelords are not yet in there.) Basically the question is whether these undead are naturally in the tomb, or they have been resurrected by the lich. If it's the former, they should respawn; if it's the latter, they shouldn't. It's up to you to decide.

There is an in_v_l_int_pillar_01 outside of the level. Have you lost it?

Thanks Arvis, great suggestions as always. Yeah I definitely want something better for the 'boss' in this tomb. In the meantime I'm trying to brush up on my scripting for a few small events I'd like to implement here in this tomb as well.

As for that pillar, I when I see an object or static I like I always leave it to the side until a nice place for it pops up.

And while we're on the topic of scripting, I feel like this tomb would be a great place for a simple, retrieve item and/or escort to surface quest. Where the PC would find an NPC who lost something and wants to be helped out of the tomb? Relatively straightforward.

Creatures are not the domain of the interior modder. If you want a specific style added in you make a note of it in your final post for the next stage modders to see and take care of. Perhaps Haplo or TF will have more to say on the subject about if you should remove them now or not, but it is certainly not standard procedure.

Your additions to the top floor look very good, feel free to split the rooms off of the main chamber in the lower level to lower the ref count and allow you to add more detail.

Scamp and I both envisioned this place to be grand and you have kept those elements and added more of your own making this fit the designs we had going. Looks good so far.

Thanks SamirA, I don't mind deleting the creatures, I just pretty much randomly placed ghosts and skeletons anyways, someone else could probably do better with that. But as for the WIP, I have a much newer version I'd like to have posted soon, so expect a few changes from the last one you downloaded.

New WIP

Starting to resemble the final product. Still considering breaking outer rooms into a third cell.

All creatures deleted

Please note: This interior now contains an NPC, and a simple quest. Now I know this is absolutely not "standard procedure" and I do not plan on making a habit out of this, but while building this INT I had an idea for a quest that I feel fits very well, and I felt I could save TR some work by implementing it myself. I have also been given the green light from Why to attempt this.

I will attach the basic outline for the quest. Please feel free to test this quest and offer any input on what needs to be done with it.

My apologies to TF and Haplo in advance for the levels of 'procedure' I'm sure this bypasses, like I said, I don't plan to make this a habit.

To test this, there is a door linked to the interior in the big tree in seyda neen.

Thanks

The quest seems quite OK from the viewpoint of lore compatibility, and I like it. Please note that words like "today" should not appear in the quest journal, and that the journal shouldn't literally copy formulations from dialogue ("safer in my hands"/"safer in your hands") -- try to variate a little. Also, the file is dirty, but that's I guess you're aware of this and will clean it before finalizing.

Further detailed the lower chamber. Splitting the outer rooms saves less than 100 references. Probably won't end up doing that now.

Other than that, coming along nicely

New plan.

All that NPC/quest crap has been deleted for now. I'll stick to just the interior. The quest still fits very well, so I will re-propose the quest in the future, and possibly claim it.

In the meantime though, I realize I can't start fucking around with the exterior and other interiors because of a quest! Also, I realize now this would have caused other problems.

What I'd like to do now is finish this interior and submit it, then add the entire quest myself as a separate file as my quest showcase.

Just so we're all on the same page Razz

I am a sucker for hidden artefacts in places like this, but unless this tomb is extremely obscure and hard to find, there should not be a TR_w_daedra_scimitar_01 sticking out of a wall right behind the entrance door. The ebony tanto at the end of the tomb is completely OK, and I wish you would also add some hidden stuff, e. g., behind that in_velothi_ashpit_01 at X=9305, Y=2048 in the Lower part of the tomb. I wouldn't place anything daedric in there unless this tomb is going to have extra-hard enemies or the place requires solving a riddle to get into.
