There's supposed to be an exe in the zip, BSAREG.exe, used to register your TR_Data.bsa file so that the game can recognize our archive file and actually use the new meshes and textures. It's completely harmless, if a bit unreliable. So if your virus scanner is set to alert you to any .exe files in compressed folders, this is what's causing it. Of course, always be careful with files from the internets, but if this .exe file is all your virus scanner detects you should be in the clear. We haven't had any reports of viruses and it seems high unlikely that there is any malicious code in our downloads. We've been including BSAREG.exe in our files since forever ago.

If you have any trouble installing do know that you're welcome on our IRC channel, we'd gladly help you out. Just click the TR Chat link at the top of the page.

I'm not really sure were to post this, but am I the only one were my virusscan gave a warning on the download? I downloaded the file via mediafire, but didn't have time to unpack it at that moment. When I did a virusscan yesterday, I got a warning about an exe file in the zip. I haven't unpacked it (just deleted it for the moment), but is there anyone else who encountered this?
My virusscan is avast.

I use Avast also. It can be a pain in the butt sometimes but its a good anti-virus program. I sometimes have issues with Avast scanning programs and saying they could be a threat and sometimes after I download something it will have issues. What I'm wondering is what exactly Avast said was the reason for its suspicion?

it's probably able to scan in-depth and recognizes potentially-dangerous codes inside. Like some lines have been previously used on viruses before, and it detects part of that code in that file...or something, i'm just trying to guess what AVAST is doing.

But Avira Antivir say nothing about it.

Yeah, don't take it too seriously. Avast will likely detect any .exe file in there and alert to it. Avast is worse than a bloodhound in a war-zone when it comes to alerting at .exe files.

Thanks for the replies. Avast found the 'virus' only during a start-up scan. I already had another (real) virus, so that's why I decided to do a start-up scan.
I already reinstalled my pc since then (avast couldn't remove the real virus), so I am unfortunately unable to check what it was exactly.

Since noone else has any problems, I guess it was indeed a mistake of avast.

I have my Avast set to scan every program(that is being used for the first time or isn't normally on my computer, aka on a flashdrive) it feels/needs to upon opening them(just in-case some program tries to harm my pc). Due to this my Avast scans TESAME, mIRC(which I don't use anymore since Avast claimed it was a hazardous program), and several other programs, but usually it finds nothing and asks me if I want to reopen it normally(after it closes it).

What you experienced is probably just the program being overly cautious(which isn't bad, its actually quite good that its looking at everything).

Just some breaking news. The total number of unique downloads for Sacred East just broke the 10,000 threshold, and is hovering at ~10,800. Way to go, team! Very Happy With at least one more major patch update planned for this year, I'm positive we'll pass 15,000 by Christmas/New Years, and 20,000 would be great, though a much tougher number to reach.

THANK YOU...so much!

I actually had to make an account just to thank the Tamriel Rebuilt team for the amazingly beautiful work you've created. I am a long-time Morrowind player and fan and I am just in awe. (This is the first time I've downloaded the mod--upon Sacred East's release.)

It is so gorgeous, guys. :') I don't even know what to say or have enough words. Thank you!!!

You deserve money. And awards.

(And if your Donation thing is still open, I intend to donate in the near future (once my PayPal acct is done setting up)!)

Much love!

So....nothing yet about an update for the Signy Signposts for Sacred East?

I wonder if someone else could update this mod while giving credit to the original creator.
