Hmm, and for what that Hlaalu retexture is supposed to be for?

Cool. The new model is nice, but we would have to go back to standard window textures if we were to include it.
Great to see you drop by for a visit Asylum. Been up to any modding lately?

Just a little note to let you know that I'm alive again here and willing to have a go at some morrowind stuff.
Statues on the way too - Redoran and Indoril (ordinator) and a Sotha Sil.

Pardon the double post - just wanted the thread to get up on the front page again and give this some attention.
There was talk of a statue of Sotha Sil not long back and as far as I'm aware none was never made - so I made one...well - three versions of one actually-
There's a little movie of it/them here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu5N1fD4uPA
Which ever one we go with (presuming we go with one - If not I'll be disappointed as it took me ages lining up that mask of his!) is unfinished - I plan to have him holding a staff in his left hand and a cog/piece of machinery in his right - maybe hovering the cog slightly for added awesomeness. Very much like this mock up;
Of course It'll be textured too - I'm thinking a metal statue - bronzes - clockwork city like.
Feedback on which of the three is best would be helpful.

Awesome! Totally amazing!
I think one looking like your mock up would be best.
One thing I'd change: replace the 'mutated right hand' with a normal Dunmer's hand.
Also, when textured, make sure you also do one with the same texture style as vanilla's Vivec statues, 'cos I'm sure there's going to have to be a place at some point with all three Triune's statues together, so uniform textures are a must.
Absolutely brilliant, though! Awesome.
And the cog should hover, by the way. Adds just a little 'magickal mystery' touch to the statue, which is what Sil needs.

Here it is the finished copper statue of Sotha Sil;
As for the stone textures - I'll get them done along with the Redoran and Ordinator statues and upload them all together.

Hmm I missed this until now; where will these statues be placed? I'm wondering because I'm not sure how good of an idea it is to put up statues everywhere of Sotha Sil depicting the state he was in right before he died. Rather they'd probably have statues of him when he still had, you know, legs... and stuff.
But the statue itself does look awesome (I agree, the base needs a higher resolution texture)

Take a look at Sotha Sil as he is depicted on the shrines. IIRC he doesn't have shins or feet on them.

I made this from one of Morrowind's textures once (to see what Sotha might have looked like). I don't remember what mesh the texture belonged to.
As you can see the entire 'legless Skeletorness' preceded Tribunal...
[edit] On the other hand he might also be squatting.

Chances are he is squatting down on those crazy metal legs of his, you can see the crease.
BTW, what's the status on the Necrom ramp?

I think those two ovals with appendages are in fact his hands, Sotha's arms being hidden by the perspective. He's casting a spell in the image.

Here's an idea, why not make the saint and Tribunal statues we have into mini statues which can be sold at Necrom as idols? - just a thought

(Although my first thoughts went to "the dagoth ur hotel and shopping complex"...*rolls eyes*)
I like the sound of that - If anywhere was going to sell them it'd be necrom - another way of the tribunal exerting themselves into traditional ways.
Whilst we're on the topic of Necrom - what's the status of the temple there?

That would be a good idea, but:
Wouldn't they have to be spaced throught Morrowind, or only Necrom.
Only Necrom would be easier since we'd just add them to the esisting interiors, but there is the issue of other temples throught Morrowind too.
My thought is, if Vvardenfell didn't have them, then its a Necrom only thing. More realism.

To me the Temple doesn't seem the kind of thing to commercialise like that.

the dunmer aren't really ones for statues. they should be used VERY sparingly, and the selling of small souvenir idols would not happen. (unless I am wrong, which I doubt)

Then lets not do it - makes more sense not to considering they weren't around in Vvardenfell. Huge (Unique White?) stone statues in Necrom of 'the three' would be nice though - almsivi plastering great images of themselves to decive the visiters into thinking Necrom "was Tribunal" from the begining. Perhaps at the main gateway in.
What say you?

Yes. If there is any place where it would be nice to have a statue of Sil, it's in Necrom.
(Also, you could probably put some statue of him far out in Map6, because one of the entrances to his city was deep in the Argon jungle and at some times in history he did receive pilgrims and visitors. Hasn't in a long, long while, especially since Almalexia killed him, but once upon a time he did.)

Or in 'the big Temple' at Necrom. That'd be a fitting place for a statue of all three. (We could even get a seperate statue made, with all three guys on one base, posing together, á la the fresco. But maybe that asks too much. )
Also, Harke! Brainwave struck! Could you make an image like that Sotha Sil one of each saint, so that we could use it as a 'front page' to each of the Gospels? 'Cos that'd be awesome cool.

I remember Lute making a Saint olms like that - he's possibly done more as he's pretty awesome like that...I could PM him and ask, He said he wanted to photoshop an image with the Dres slavehunter armour I made - He's not around so much so he probably hasn't seen it yet so it'd be a perfect opportunity to post it too him and get him onto it! (I can't wait to see the results!)

I'm flattered Crusty, but this is only a traced texture.
Lutemoth would make something much nicer, if he wanted to.

I'm sure he could, but we don't need anything unique, and Lute is often weighed down with several requests from people.
It'd be far easier (and IMO, just as quality) if you made one of those for each Saint.
If Lute has the time, it'd be great, but we shouldn't overburden him.
Also, remember that those triloith images were drawn by MK himself (if I'm not mistaken), so it's not like they're poor quality either.

Why not just use the images from the shrines themselves? (and maybe play around with the background colours a little).
Not that Harke didn't do a good job of Seht - it just seems a little unnecessary to redo them all when we already have them.
Edit: You meant front page I was thinking you'd said from cover. Sorry. Ignore the above.

Unless I'm misunderstanding a big circle of misunderstandings, that's what I was saying.
Harke's image there is the one from the shrine. And then if he could get the one from each Saint yada yada...
But Harke appears to have disappeared.

Ok - So the "Vehk Ayem Seht fresco" - made into a huge white stone monument for Necrom sounds good to me - only problem is the legless Seht and hovering Vehk issues - though we could explain that away with magic...
And in responce to Haplos question of where we'd put the Seht statue/monument - What Gez said - deep down in the jungle as a pilgrimage monument - perhaps partially covered with vines/mossess - aside from down south though - I'd put it nowhere else.
Again - Necrom - Map 2 - Temple still not done? - It's been awhile since I've had my finger on the pulse, what's the status of it. I remember Macar did a pretty awesome concept of it - i have some ideas too. (Not liking the Necrom Ordinator armour i did either - crappy looking now i look back on it IMHO - have plans for new more dunmeri appropriate stuff).

All cool, but "whut?": your Necrom ordinator gear kicks ass! (And we're also having a statue made of it, so if you're gonna revamp it, tell Jellew )

Yeah - I'd rather pull the old stuff out of the mod and put the new stuff in - pending approval of course - but hey it's still there for anyone that wants it - just think on reflection that the quality level of it isn't high enough for TR - and definitely not for somewhere so important as Necrom. (My personal opinion)
Jellew - hold that statue!

For Velothi in BL:
I need some meshes to hide things,
square, rectangular and quite flate elements, not to big. Exemple, a plate element but retexture in Velothi. I need also a wall or a block element but right not like they are in the set. 2-3 could be enough.
I'm afraid to ask a very boring work, sorry.
