That quagmire daedra with the hands on its head is wicked awesome. That's a design that gives Lute's gifters a run for its money! Eek When we get to make model claims for Quagmire creatures, that little nightmare will just have to make the cut. It's perfect.

Also, yay, furniture! Happy

I'm very glad to have you onboard. Your art is awesome. Keep it up! Pleased

Great concepts! The deer-esque thing would be a cool thing to have in HF, and like Gez said, yay furniture!

Also, yay sign designs! The various signs, symbols, and other random things of that nature haven't gotten that much love, unless I've missed them. Very Happy

Yes. Yes they do. And it's awesome.

Perfect for a Quagmire critter, creepy and distinctive and weird and original and unique.

Thanks for the reactions and the promotion. I'll be sure to keep this up.

Would you mind drawing a quick sketch for me? For a creature idea, called the Featherback.

I just want the head, the body will be mostly just re-texture so it doesn't need much concepting.

Its a gorilla meets a scarlet macaw. Lutemoth's tantha is the inspiration.

I think it's awesome, I defitnely like your style.

The eyes are great, imagine seeign them peering throguh some laves at you. You certainly caught that inquisitive look of macaws. Great job.

EDIT: HolyMcChickenCaesarSalad, I didn't even check Gez' one. Lutemoth 2.0 confirmed.

During hours in which I should have been doing something totally different, I created another frightening creature. It's meant to be another Quagmire monster, but with some adaptations she would be suitable for any dark and scary place.

A beautiful, white creature emitting a faint light roams the dark landscape of Quagmire. Like a white spirit she floats over Quagmire's rocks and swamps, hoping for someone to find her. With a hauntingly beautiful voice she sings a melancholic song of loneliness. Hovering between hope and fear, those who hear and see her still cannot help but be drawn to her.

When the prey gets close the light fades and is replaced by a horrifying darkness. The Siren reveals her true form and becomes a terrible monster. The Gifter's little sister.

Awesome. I especially love the lore you brought with it, I think it would be a great creature ingame, but it might be tricky to replace the first one with the second one after transformation

Replace? That's just a question of animation. Don't get me wrong, it wouldn't be easy to animate this creature; but that wouldn't be more complicated however than making it two creatures with two sets of animations.

I imagine that simply having this monster's "equip/ready weapon" animation would be the transformation. No replacing/extra creature necessary at all.

Also, off the topic of CS technical doo-hickery, that Siren is coolsauce with vehement spice of awesome mixed in. Then battered, and served with a side of relish. Serves 4. Or two plump individuals.

I knew it would be a pain in the ass to animate while I was drawing it. Razz
Still, I hope someone will want to do it. If not, I'll just regard it as a nice addition to my collection of concept art. Something that shows my eagerness to put my skills to use for this project. Smile

I like the ruins you've posted. Smile We don't actually have a ruin set at this point... but it'll be really important in the future. The symbols and designs you've created are great for fleshing out the culture of Hammerfell.

one of the first weekly sketch groups was for ruins. what we really need ruin wise is a fully developed set (preferably modular). lute and elfane were planing to work on them but they both seem to have gone poof.

If it's of any help to you I will gladly start work on a yoku-ish ruins set. It'll be a challenge to create a full set of old Yoku architecture by myself with only lutemoth's designs to work with though. But then, I like challenges. :p

Let me know what your plans are.

An important thing to remember while designing these is that though they should be reminiscent of the Near East, they also need to be somehow fundamentally unique. Something needs to be different.

I don't know what, but something.

An update on the project I usurped: a modular set for ruins. Right now I'm working on a set for a ruined 'palace' structure. I go about drawing each modular piece individually, and then sketches of how the pieces may be brought together. It's coming along, but I'm not satisfied with the results yet, so any thoughts or feedback is very welcome.
For the modular pieces, I've assumed that size may be adjusted in the construction set, but I don't really know if that's possible. I don't think it causes much problems though, if the modelers look at the complete sketches for reference.

Modular pieces:

Entrance

Base A

Base B

Palace towers, perhaps in different sizes.

Stairway and stone plateau.

Palace wing/addon

An early sketch of how the combination of modular pieces might look.

Another sketch of a complete castle.

Other things I will be working on for this set are ornate pillars, frescoes and ruined houses, walls and common buildings.

Thanks for taking on the ruin set Myzel Smile You've put a lot of work into this and it looks amazing. You're use of graph paper is also refreshing to see.

The window in the first drawing is a brilliant use of the Satakal design, but we could probably find a better way to incorporate the 'snakemen/Cep-god-head' into the base of the pillar. It looks unstable and oddly placed. Perhaps making a smoother transition between the head and pillar would fix it up.

It's my duty to comment on this, but Morden already said what I wanted to say. Wink

Usually, heads on sculpted pillars would be at the top, not at the base. Try a coiled tail motif instead for the base. Smile
