Since we have assembled in this thread the quorum of nerds who so actively oppose any proposal I put forward that at all changes the status quo I have a straightforward and simple question to ask all of you?

Do you think I meander around changing everything and yelling at you for the hell of it, or have you considered for a moment that I know what I'm doing?

It is so irritating how much opposition I get at every turn, just because you guys don't understand my reasoning.

I'll give you the benefit of my entire thought process that led to these requirements of Windmoth's name
-That it reference dragons.
-That it not be a -moth.

Moth is good, but too much can hurt you. In the original game, there were six forts, three of them moths. They were Hawkmoth, Pelegiad, Moonmoth, Buckmoth, Darius, and Wolverine Hall. Note that in all three moth names, they were references to real moth species (Moonmoth was probably also a reference to a short story by Jack Vance). Therefore, the proclivity towards "moth" in every fort name, though unsurprising, exceeds reasonable coolness.

What I abhor vehemently is the pattern, begun with the Firemoth expansion, to name forts in reference to their surroundings with a "-moth" attached. This fort is on a caldera, let's call it Firemoth. This fort is in our snow-themed expansion, let's call it Frostmoth. This fort is on a tiny island, let's call it Wavemoth. That sort of lameness is unacceptable. I admit I suspected and do suspect as much of Windmoth, which is in the mountains and therefore would be at a high altitude.

Further, I need dragon names in this region. Right now we have Dragonhead Point and the Dragon Nest Inn, ignoring Akamora and Dun Akafell, whose draconic naming is made more obscure. Do not ask why this is necessary.

Therefore, I chose Windmoth, a name I am already prejudiced against for the aforementioned reasons, as the name to make "draconic." I initially supported Fort Drake, Haplo vehemently opposed it, Andres suggested Dragonfly, which became Dragonfly Hall, which you vehemently oppose. I chose it over my own Fort Drake because "drake" is a word used for the Imperial currency and Haplo hated it so much. Also it couldn't be "Drakemoth" or something because that's rather like naming it "Frostmoth," well maybe not but I don't really like it.

So if all of you are fawning over windmoth so much, I present you the following challenge:

Find a name within the area of southern or eastern current Map 2 which can incorporate something planely Draconic that isn't Windmoth Legion Fort.

Also, the rule right now is that no more than half the forts in Morrowind (something around 2 in 5 would be nice) can be a -moth name. Border forts aren't in the count. So use your moth tokens carefully.

That is dumb. Windmoth is the least crappy of our moth names. I don't see any reason for renaming this beside your desire to dragonify this region.

Yes over use of -moth sucks, yes you want to have dragony things in this area, but that doesn't require a renaming of this legion post.

The only advantage of Dragonfly fort is that we can make some funny dialogue about it.

What has a dragonfly to do with a dragon besides the similarity in the name?

PS: I renamed Merdekhes Norim to Dragoran to fulfill Sloads dragon request.

How about we discuss names before taking the time to actually rename things.

I do not like Dragoran at all.

I lol'd.

Anyway, if we really need a name change, best to do it at an Imperial place, 'cos we have plenty of of 'Dragon' Dunmer places (The Akas).

So, that leaves us with (in the new Map 2) FoWi (really ought to stay the same) and Helnim. Why not change Helnim? No one's really had time to get attached to that, least of all the public. It'd also be a high-key 'dragon-y place'. As long as the new name isn't crap (Draketown/Dragonfly Palace/Dragonmoth/Draconis/Wyrmville etc.), that is.

There is that ruined Drakehold Keep southwest of Necrom. There's a book about it and everything.

...But that isn't current Map 2.

So we come to the conclusion.. there is no option but Windmoth. Good job guys, like you didn't know that already.

However, in light of your stringent opposition to changing the name and certain factors not considered by myself previously, I'm fine with Windmoth. I don't like it but I'll live so you guys can stop having your hissies.

I am very close, in fact I only have to add some slave freeing dialogue, a mine foreman dialogue and some additional misc topics for Verulas Pass. I changed Merdekhes Norim into Daragorian, made a big fight between the bandits and vampires with scripts and made it easier for the player. Mind you, this is still one of the hardest battles you'll get but I placed a dead vampire outside to warn anyone. The script for the fight in the upper story of the interiors works so great that when you arrive there you'll have to wade through a slaughterhouse of dead vampires and bandits who all have been killed in the fight, with a few tough survivors. I'll still have to tweak the stats in the lower story somewhat, as the vampires win too easily there.

Norem was the agreed upon namechange by Haplo and myself. Merdekhes is bad and Norim reminds Haplo of a certain ex-member.

Floating creatures are not the fault of the modder. The Cs always shows floating creatures and those creatures will 'fall' ingame to the ground.

I'd like to claim this claim.

This includes, if I'm not mistaken, the settlements of Hlersis and Erethan Plantation?

I will possibly change/revamp some of the existing work here. We'll see how it goes.

Okay, here's a version with everything done previously brought up to scratch. Not much change was required, this was a more solid claim than I remembered.

Future versions will include new dialogue, mainly for Erethan Plantation, and filling the gaps at Hlersis.

There are also three or four interior cells (dungeon types) that I will NPC etc. in forthcoming versions. One of these interior cells is a Velothi monastery type place, where I'll put a resident priest with some dialogue ans stuff. I assume this is okay? (The int certainly looks like it was designed to be still functioning, and probably a pilgrimage site too)

Heh, as always with me, one slight revision:

turned out that, contrary to what I thought, the wilderness here had not been NPCd. So I just whipped through and finished that off. Here is the actual final file.

I'm pretty sure that this file has 3 cells missing. those 3 cells should border with the current map3a9. Maybe they have been cut out by accident.
edit: The file at the first post has already that cell missing.
edit2: someone needs to create 3 cells which borders with map2a7,map2a9 and map3a9.

I think those are in Map 3 a 8, as part of Sailen.

Those cells don't belong to m3a9 either. I have checked this out too.
The missing cells are 35,-15; 36,-15; 37,-15. They should belong to map2a7. You can see this the on the detailing claim map at the first post.

I shall attempt to locate an incredibly old version of Map 2 (or Map 3; old maps had cells they weren't supposed to back in the day) that includes these three cells, so we can add them to this claim and fix them up if necessary.

All the cells appear to be here now, between the various files.
