I'll be making various kinds of maps of Morrowind for a while, and I'll be posting them here. Some of these of you'll already know like the back of your hand, but I hope some of the others will prove useful. If you have any requests, feel free to ask.

The main purpose of this project is that, by utilising various overlays for a createmap map, we won't have to recreate the entire map from scratch if we want to change something, I just edit the relevant overlay. I'll be storing everything in this imgur album.

Major thanks to Seneca37 for creating a script that combines all the createmap files into a single image.

And now: maps.

House Borders: Source.

A second map showing the smaller regions of influence within the greater borders:

Regions: source

Since the previous map seems to be based on the section files rather than the actual regions, I made a second map, basing the borders on where landmasses become visually distinct. (Note: because drawing the borders between Molagréahd and the Boethian Mountains creates absolute chaos, I've combined them into North Telvannis.)

A map showing possible locations for intervention destinations.

A map with the fast travel routes. I really hope we merge Vvardenfell and Mainland boat travel, because the Inner Sea will devolve into chaos otherwise. :)

Districts:

Zone Difficulty:

Any feedback is of course welcome.

Your source for the second map is in fact a proposal for future sections, not regions. The third map seems pretty accurate, though, at least as far as the current sections are concerned. I'd go so far as to say that everything west of the Thirr is accurate, at least according to current plans. There might be room for nitpicking, though. The East naturally doesn't matter for the time being, as we have no idea how it will look.

There are a few things I would change in your faction map, but I've already mostly covered them in this thread, which might be worth taking a look at. After Opiece's last map, most of the discussion was about the Vvardenfell borders, which are relatively inconsequential.
Edit: Ah, right, I just noticed your source for the House Borders map was one of Opiece's earlier versions.

Seneca already had a similar idea to yours; you may want to look at his work as well, if you haven't already.

Updated the House Map.

The second thread you linked seems to be for devs only, but I suspect it contains stuff Seneca already sent me. He's the one who recruited me for this :)

Ah drat. I checked to make sure the first link was publicly viewable, but forgot to do so for the second link.

You missed the spot of Redoran land west of House Dres, but otherwise your updated map looks perfect.
Edit: that is to say, if you wanted to be absolutely accurate, there would be several spots of territory (mostly Imperial) that stand out from the surrounding faction, but I don't think those are too important. That spot of Redoran territory is fairly noteworthy, though.

Added a second map showing the smaller regions of influence within the greater borders. Because the Redoran village isn't yet available in the latest alpha (and therefore the latest createmap), I've left it out for now. I'll add it once the landmass becomes accessible. I'm not sure about the names for the Nords and Argonians, so if anyone has idea for improvements, let me know.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think the lower half of 35 in the region's map belongs to the Velothi Mountains region. Only the upper half of 35 is Uld Vreach. The Grey Meadows are kind of embraced by the mountains.

In the original map yes, but in-game, the main function of the regions is to determine the weather patterns of a specific area. Area 35 is entirely covered in snow, whereas area 32 is only snowy at the very peaks of the mountains. With area 33 acting as a nice border between the two, it seemed reasonable to split the regions there.

Dropping a note here, I recently had a bit of trouble finding the most recent, full-scale create maps, so I'm posting it here for others' convenience.

Cause I was bored I merged the rendered map of the last TES with the TR-map to see where the passes leads.

Is not professional made, sorry.

Here's a big map of Morrowind with full numbered grids, made with seneca's source files.

I've decided to split off an off-topic discussion (mostly) about Shipal-shin; I opted to merge it with Why's Shipal-Shin inspirational stuff thread as opposed to making a new topic for now.

This thread is intended to discuss maps of TR's landmass and whatever else needs mapping, not for discussion of the landmass itself.

A question about the faction maps: What are the Nail Knock Reavers and the Taj Eel Xa'Nith and where, if at all on the second map, are the Taj Eel Xa'Nith?

They're a Nordic and Argonian faction, respectively. Or at least, they're supposed to be, they're not yet implemented. Hence why you only see the Nordic territory.

I'd like to see more (up-to-date) placenames. Especially in the Hlaalu territory. With different maps and propositions all over it's rather hard to figure out which places actually exist and what they are called.

A grid map WIP.

Showing the outline of Morrowind, TR both released, alpha and unreleased (from and old map), Anthology Solstheim and the Province: Cyrodiil concept.

Still trying to hunt down any reasonably up-to-date map of Skyrim: Home of the Nords.

Same map, but with cell impact shown.

That also tells me a good deal about what SHoTN is not doing (which I can use the older maps I have for). So it's pretty good enough, thanks!

Double post for me being done with this map - I'm going to rip off Swiftoak for version 2.0

Skyrim: Home of the Nords, Tamriel Rebuilt, Province Cyrodiil, Anthology Solstheim outlines. I took whatever I could find.

The sources/concept maps, basically the most complete version of the Morrowind Kalpa's Tamriel. Bonus: The Uriel V propaganda map, for easy placement of the eastern isles. Akavir proper starts at roughly 110.

Outlines in comparison to Arthmodeus' first map. TR based its original concept on this one.

Anything in the central or eastern part of the Skyrim map is not going to stay that way. The river outlines are completely meaningless, as they were deliberately added to the blank terrain at some point in distant past and will not be kept, when we get to that area.

I just say it, because I know that it looks like a complete mess in this birdview, also partly due to these gigantic plateaus in the western province.

Other than that, nice cross-province maps.

Gridmap v1 fell off the internet when I uploaded a TR test installation on my webspace. Sorry.

Gridmap v2 is coming along slowly now that I'm back at work and diddling around during lunch hour. At 50% compression, made to look prettier than v1.

I created a quick map for today's Skype meeting. This map actually ended up more detailed and accurate than I had intended; it is specifically not supposed to be used for implementation, but only for tossing around concepts and ideas:

For example, here's my version of the map, with all of the tedious edits I currently want made to our current worldmap. Again, it's worth keeping in mind that these are all rough concept maps for the whole of Morrowind, and one is not supposed to focus on the fine details:

And based off of that map, an even more dubious provisional map of Resdayn as it was before the eruption of Red Mountain and creation of the Inner Sea, the bits I consider most dubious being the incorporation of Solstheim into the mainland, the vast delta next to it and having the Thirr not be connected to the Sea of Ghosts at that point.

And, by way of showing what sort of things one can do with the map and in preparation for the meeting, I played around with the latter two maps, creating a map of the different biomes for each, as well as a very rough region map and heightmap (in MS-paint) for the conceptual map of modern Morrowind:
