Screenshots Thread

Post by Gnomey »

I've noticed that a few of our developers, and no doubt many who download our content, have a lot of screenshots lying about which never really get posted on the forums, let alone get added to the gallery or other places that could profit from pretty pictures.
I figured the best way to go about things would be to create a public thread where people are invited to post any TR screenshots they have. Some people with the right access might then grab the best screenshots and upload them to the gallery or wherever they could be used to greatest effect, but really just having them in a visible thread would take them out of the shadows and give people stuff to look at. This is that thread.

Here is a link to my photobucket page. Some of the screenshots may be useful for the galleries, though I understand that TRV screens are currently in highest demand. I'll add more of those shortly.

I've taken quite a few new shots of OE. Seeing that our Tumblr page has been sitting on it's "Site Downtime" update for several months, I'd be very happy to see some more screenshots, perhaps a few of these, getting put up very soon.

You mean an ad? I can't do anything about that. (If you are referring to the photobucket page)

A test:

Hm. Photobucket is rather inconvenient to work with. It's hard to post the image at its full size, as it always redirects to the scaled down version. If you can get it to show the full size, just going with a direct image and putting it in spoiler tags might be a good way to go, rather than linking to the site.
That being said, I would strongly consider uploading to imgur instead, as someone who (as you can see above) has used photobucket in the past.

I've uploaded several more images to my photobucket page. This time they are based off of Rats' amazing OE sewers, as well as the Raathim Ancestral Tomb.

I may consider switching to imgur at some point, though I am currently very attached to photobucket, and seemingly no crucial problems are coming out of it.

http://s1367.photobucket.com/user/10kaziem/library/Tamriel%20Rebuilt/TR%20Screenshots

Went on a photography expedition to the Velothi mountains and assorted areas.

Screenshots taken with vanilla Morrowind plus TR, no other mods. MGEXE with distant land and full default shaders (HDR, bloom, fancy water, etc).

I also have these in a rar if anyone wants.

I went on another screenshot run, this time with different shader settings. I pushed the distant land further and used the enhanced fog settings in MGEXE. Still just vanilla assets though.

Here's the link again, with about 120 new screenshots. The ones towards the ends are best, I think.

Omg! These screens are fantastic! I love how you make good use of the sun glare for better environmental effect. Incidentally, you have me incredibly curious now; what is your cell view distance for MGE, are you using MSGO and what is your frame rate?

MGE distant land is set to 20 cells. I don't use any mods except for TR, the latest MGE XE beta and the associated sky colors mod. I'm slowly working on a texture replacer of my own so there's a smattering of my textures in there. In a couple of the shots on the slopes above grey meadows I set distant land to 255. That's why you can see all the way to the Dwemer ruin north of Necrom. Predictably my frame rate dropped to single digits. Usually frame rate fluctuates between 15- 30. I have a bit of an older system I'm hoping to upgrade this year so I can bump things up to 8k from my current 3.5k.

I'll add more shots in as I encounter them.

These are very good! And wow, I didn't even know MGE allowed for a view distance of 255 cells. :P
