Revoked. This kind of sucks. There's one or two cool features, like a waterfall, but it's empty and a very ugly shade of yellow.

Before claiming this I want to know some stuff.

Look at the pictures.

Left side of claim:

Right side of claim:

The questions are about the encircled areas:

Shady circle (Green):

What is this place and it looks crap... Is this for keeping or shall I change it to a Redoran farming site. With 2 or 3 farms in the area?

Tavern (Blue):

A tavern aside the road. This is not really Morrowind style to have a tavern on the routes. Shall I keep this or go with the suggested wickweat farming area?

Weird shizzle (Red):

Ok, what is the meaning of this area? It looks silly but I can try to make it look good... Maybe..

Overall:
I will bend the roads a little bit and crush the 'highway' to the "shady circle". Replacing that with smaller sandy path.

Will delete all bad, non GL, plants that are not within range of the borders..

Will add more details to the center of the claim (improve the vertex colouring).

Going to try to make the change from WG rock to GL border smoother. Same goes for BC to GL border..

Thanks in advance..

Shady Circle needs to be removed. You can place a little plantation there if you like. If the weird area looks weird and/or doesn't fit, feel free to replace it with something that does.

I like the idea of a roadside tavern, BTW. Could be cool.
a man builds a city
with
Banks and Cathedrals
a man melts the sand so he
can see the world outside

Ok, first changes:

Deleted "Shady Circle" and added a Redoran Farm c.q. Plantation. Deleted a lot of shrubs (BC, WG etc. shrubs in a GL area..). Still Getting along just fine. Check the pictures if you like (Note: no vertex colours yet):

Ok, update time:

Extended the WG mountains to make the change to the BC area better. Then I started on detailing the middle GL section. This is the result:

Still needs a lot of work to be finished but it's getting along quite well. I got my doubts at the vertex colours. Can't seem to get the right colours... Let me hear your thoughts!

Overview update:

First off I hope to finish the GL area this weekend. After that I will focus on detailing the hillsides and creating the ashlands area.

The GL area:

Red Circle:
Wickweat and hack'lo farm.

Quite a large farm with 3 buildings:
1)Tower: ex_redoran_tower_01, with exit on top.
2)Big building: ex_redoran_building_02, for the owner of the farm and his wife.
3)Small Building: ex_redoran_hut_01, for the employee the owner has. So no slaves..

Green Circle:
Ancestral tomb.

1)ex_velothi_entrance_02

Blue Circle:
Wickweat and Hack'lo farm.

A small farm with 1 building:
1)ex_redoran_hut_01, the farm is owned by one elderly man. He grows just enough to live.

Yellow Circle:
Ancestral tomb.

1)ex_velothi_entrance_02

Ok, thanks.

Uploaded my first WIP, about 40% complete. Large GL area is now allmost done and going to start on the surrounding WG mountains.

Don't know if I named the cells correctly; TR_4-24-Hla? But have a look around and say what you think of it.

BOOo! ;)...

Euhm well no progress for this claim or the interiors. Bussy period at the end of 2008. I hope to find some time for finishing this claim. The interior claims are definately not my best work, seeing the reviews, so I won't try that anymore.

As goes for this claim if someone else wants it or it needs to be finished really soon it is ok to revoke. Otherwise I would like to try and finish it... Your call.

Mwgek

[EDIT] If I can keep it to finish can someone download and give it a look if i'm on the right track since this is my first exterior. Thanks in advance.

[EDIT2] And Nemon congrats on promotion :).

Did some work on the claim today. Finished (read: detailed) the WG mountains at the side of my claim. Need to smoothen the WG to GL textures.

On the other side of my claim I still need to create the ashlands. Also need to smoothen AL to GL and AL to WG textures.

Posting a new WIP. Can someone please check it out if I'm doing ok? Thanks

Mwgek

[EDIT]
Could you please take an overview screenshot with the yellow cell border lines enabled?
Et voila:

W00t another update after some hours work yesterday evening and this morning:

Overview picture:

Finished the whole inner side of the claim but I still have some questions:

1) The ashlands (BLUE) I made doesn't match the claim above (4-9 Gnomey) and aside (4-46). This is because the style of the claim above is not yet changed. If i'm finished should Gnomey match my borders? (This goes for all cell attached to 4-9 btw

2) RED marked on map. I didn't touch that area of the claim since I don't want to change that style. But it doesn't look very good to me. If I change this 1 cell it should be matched with 4-46....

3) The south side of my claim is attached to map 3. Should I match this border properly or is that dealt with in the detailing round?

4) If everything is ok I would like to send it to 1st review...

For that ashland cell, the border with the non-ashland part on the East should in my opinion be at the hill crest, not at the bottom. If the ashes can spill over the hill, then they would spill even further, wouldn't they?

Hmmm... I use the original bethesda concept: GL -> RM mountains -> AL. Like this picture:

I know I still need to better my vertex colouring but I can't seem to get the correct colours. Does anyone know what colours beth used in there landscape regions? I hope someone still takes a look at the file to help me on track so I can finish this off.

MwGek, as to claim matching, unless you want to do it I'll be willing to match up the borders to whatever you made after you're done. For now I'll just ignore the last row of cells, so you can go crazy.

Oopsie ;). Well that is not really true since I didn't edit 1 cell, otherwise I have to change the whole claim aside mine. Maybe that needs to be done anyway in detailing? But I will update it to 100% if you want.

Are you triple sure about sending this to review? Though I'm not an exterior reviewer, I have reviewed exteriors before and I already see several issues here.

That red square you noted above hasn't been touched at all.
In fact, the majority of issues I saw with this claim revolve around that area. Ex_drystonewall is only used in Imperial settlements, so unless that shack settlement at -6, -30 is Imperial/com, then it should be changed. Also, the 2 trees are bleeding majorly into the shacks. Likewise there are vast areas of emptiness. And for sure 7 objects for a cell is WAY too low.

Oh, and a couple ashland rocks are floating/caspering.

Other than that, looks good.

As i said earlier i'm happy to change it but then I would like to change the whole adjacent claim since that is what needed. The settlement is halve in my claim and halve in the next. For floater and sinkers I have one thing to say, If you look too long at 1 claim you can't see them anymore ;).

They are supposed to. Before I became a hoe, I was supposed to join in on the discussion in the 8-3 reviewing thread, but although my clearances was in order I couldn't access the exterior reviewing forum. Interior reviewing forum alright, but not the exterior...

and having Morrowind would help me review this claim!

Sorry guys I never reinstalled the game after the weird graphics problems I had on this laptop. This basically means I'm either going to be on a semester long hiatus from doing anything at TR, or I'll search for a copy around somewhere.

Again. sorry :(
