There are several possible quests for Ashamul. Only two of the lot are required.

Here's the first, I'll type the other later.
1. Remove the guard. Feduran Vandal, one of the Ashamulans, is a smuggler and she wants to get rid of the guard at the entrance, in a way that will not attract more.
Officially, the guard is there because of supposed guar thefts in the area (Tel Ouada dialogues would tend to support that). Officiously, Master Mithras suspects (rightly) there are smuggling operations passing through Ashamul.
Getting the quest: Talk to Feduran Vandal. She'll have a greeting for that.
Solving the quest: Three possible ways to solve that quest, which are: ratting Feduran Vandal out (NPC is disabled after that, fleeing the guards) or killing her; searching for the guar thief; or searching for a "perfect culprit".
- If a guard in Ashamul, Ranyon-ruhn, or Tel Aranyon, or if Master Mithras himself is told that Feduran Vandal is a smuggler, the player will get a small and mostly useless reward, such as a Wooden Mace of Judgement. (Yay.) As a meager bonus, Vandal's dwelling becomes lootable since she's no longer there. Ashamul NPCs become unfriendly after that end.
- If the "Slander" Ranyon-ruhn quest has been made, then Feduran Vandal will suggest "revealing" that the slanderer NPC is the guar thief to a guard. Both Ashamul's guard and the NPC will disappear after that. Nobody liked that guy, so nobody complains.
- If the player chooses to search for the guar thief, he'll have to search near Tel Ouada, the other place where such rumors are heard. The cave near the Tel Ouada Guar Farm will contain that NPC and some evidence, such as a large quantity of guar meat. The thief's actually butchering stolen guars and selling the meat cheap to shady publicans (such as the Silver Serpent).
Required work: Giving an unique ID to the Telvanni guard at Ashamul.
Writing new dialogues, greetings, rumors, etc.
Making enable/disable script for Feduran Vandal, the guard, and the slander NPC.
Creating a new NPC and placing some clutter in the cave.

2. Dwem' Raider. Another quest started by Feduran Vandal. If she's still there ("guar thief" or "scapegoat" end to the previous quest), she wants to try a dangerous delivery mission. She was contacted to retrieve a Dwemer McGuffin (exact item to be determined later) from a Dwemer ruin, and to bring it to a contact in Gah Ouadaruhn. When the player explores the ruin, he doesn't find the item.
Instead, he sees the ruins are occupied by a bunch of Imperials, and guards tell him to leave as the ruins are unsafe, property of the empire, and closed to the public. If the player sneaks around the guards and bluffs one of the archaelogists, he can be told that some interesting items were retrieved already and sent to the Firewatch Guild of Mages where they'll be examined before being sent by boat to the Imperial Archeological Society in Cyrodiil City.
If the player goes in the Firewatch Guild of Mages, he won't find the item either. Inquiring about it will allow a convincing player to learn the item hasn't arrived yet.
It turns out the carrier decided to take a shortcut rather than follow the road, and was ambushed by a Kagouti herd.
From here, two choices:
A) Bring the item to the mages guild. They'll be happy, but Feduran won't.
B) Bring the item to the contact in Gah Ouadaruhn. Feduran will be happy and the Mages Guild won't be the wise. Player can lie and tell them the carrier was ambushed by bandits and the MacGuffin wasn't here to be found.

You have the design for the other, Gez?

Since Master Mithras plays a major role in Ranyon-ruhn's MQ, would you like me to combine these two? Explaining:

In the last stages of Ranyon's MQ, Mithras will send the PC to get a guar loaded with ebony from the mine and escort it to Firewatch, where he'll meet the buyer. There are no pack guars in Ranyon, so here's what I can do, step by step;

Make Mithras send the player to Ashamul to get a guar.
The player is directed to Feduran, who is in charge of the guar stable, and a smuggler as Gez suggests. She says she will lent the PC a guar, if he helps her get rid of the guard for a while, so that she can move some illegal items.
The player can aid her by tricking the guard into abandoning his place for a while, then turn her in by bringing the smuggled stuff to the guard. Or not turn her in at all.

Now, the second Ashamul quest, which depends on whether the PC will report Feduran or not. If he does, someone else becomes the caretaker and asks of the player to find the guar thief. The thief could be Galdasi Thendas, the I-can't-lift-a-feather-wihtout-making-noise girl in Ranyon. I'll see what I can do about her case.

That's a plan I came up with in a few minutes, if you like I can further develop it.

Edit: Anybody can make these quests, since Ashamul and Galdasi Thendas are untouched by the quests I've made so far. But in case somebody does make these, I'd like him to send the file when he's done to connect some parts of them with Ranyon's MQ (which is currently about 20% completed).

These seem like nice quests Gez. You still want to implements them? If you don't have time, or you don't want to, I can approve the design and allow somebody else to work on them.

Okay, I'll work on making them during my week of vacation.

If none of the dwemer ruins fit for the second quest, can I make a new, small int somewhere?

How's the progress?
Did you find a ruin? If not, just say the word and I'll put the appropriate claim into the browser.

Kinda slow, I've more worked on Data stuff. Tapestries, Nalin's stuff, Veet's models...

As far as the Ashamul quests goes, I've made the journals and the dialogue for the start of the first quest.

And yeah, I'd like a new Dwemer ruin. Nothing grand, just a small int in which I could put some Imperial Archeological Society guys and a few guards. The existing Dwemer ruins have monsters, smugglers, or are underwater. Ideally, the entrance would be unobtrusive -- just a cave. Located probably on the peninsula just south of Bahrammu.

Bump. You still want that ruin?
Just say the word and I'll put it in the browser. I can stick a small one due south of Bahrammu if you want.

Seeing as Gez appears to be gone, I'd like to take this one, and do it as part of the Ranyon-ruhn Main Quest .esp.

I'll be using Scumbago's links between these quests and those ones, so it'll be easier that way.

If that's okay, it looks like a new mini Dwemer ruin int will be needed. If it is made, could the int maker please make a fun little 'maze entrance', that the sneaky player could have fun sneaking around, avoiding the guards.

Took longer than expected, but these ones are finished up. A mix of RL and lack of inspiration slowed it all up a bit.

No file is attached as these are now merged into the TR_q1_47.esp, in order to allow interaction between the quests.

This is finished, so take it away, just there's no file 'cos I don't want to confuse testers. :)

Could you dump this in Reviewing or Finished, so that things are nice and tidy? Or you could just delete the thread, honestly.

Oh ya. Sorry, I'm used to not being able to see my quests when they're gone. I assumed it had stayed in claimed. :P

Can someone delete or just do something with this thread, 'cos it really worries me every time I open Claimed and see one more quest to my name than I'm expecting. And it just looks messy, and will confuse people if we leave it here. Either bin it, or merge it with the RR MQ, or something if you can, please.
