Claiming. How many guards live here? Is there anything else then housing for the guards?

Granted! :) I'd say bunks for 8-10 guards'd be enough. No need to overdo the housing thing though, since there's plenty of other barrack-ish buildings in OE.

Since there's a chimney I think some crude sort of kitchen would also be present. You can be creative with what else could be present in the keep: an armory, a training room, a tiny jail dungeon with an interrogation room?

Final Review

Bottom level
-Lowered Ambient lighting
-misc_com_metal_plate_05 bleeding very slightly into hutch
-Lowered health for the cooking knife and all weapons and armors. None of these items would be in perfect condition.
-Apprentice's Mortar and Pestle is fine for town guard barracks since they need something in which to grind and mix their food but a Journeyman's calcinator would be for alchemists and mage-type characters, not guards living in barracks. I would expect maybe a few of these guards to have basic knowledge of alchemy but nothing beyond that. So I deleted the calcinator and put the apprentice mortar & pestle in its place. Feel free to correct me on this.
-Rotated guar meat in wooden bowl
-Repositioned broom
-sacks on bottom shelf of furn_com_rm_bookshelf_02 bleeding too much
-Deleted the two scuttle ingredients because those are dunmer dishes and while it isn't implausible for an imperial to eat dunmer foot, it feels out-of-place for the interior. It would be nice to have some of the dishes mentioned in The Imperial Kitchen books.
-Deleted fire salts on the fireplace. It's value is 100 gold, which would be very expensive for guards to afford. And even if one of the guards did have 100 gold in his pouch or satchel, I highly doubt he would spend all of it on salt when he could buy something more useful like liquor or a prostitute.
-Replaced 25gold with 5gold because it's sitting on the floor out in the open, granted its behind a bed post, it still is strange to have that many coins laying about on the floor in the guards barracks.
-Replaced three blue plates on the upper shelf in the kitchen with metal plates. Blue plates are nice for decoration but barracks aren't the kind of place you would decorate. The only kinds of plates guards should have in their barracks are plates to eat off of.
-Replaced a couple misc_com_metal_plate_05 with the _04 metal plates to break up the monotony.

Upper level
-Gave chest_small_02_gold_25 lock level 20
-Replaced expensive_shirt_03 with common_shirt_03_b
-Gave imperial_chain_cuirass 280/300 health (
-Gave iron mace 960/1200 health
-Gave imperial boots 155/170 health
-Replaced misc_com_plate_07 with metal plate_04. The previous plate is too pretty and fancy for barracks.

Secret room
-Replaced p_restore_endurance_q with Quality Restore Health. Restore Endurance is a potion not used all that often unless you encounter someone skilled in Destruction who would damage your Endurance. In any case, a guard would probably head over to the local Imperial chapel to be healed (there is an Imerial Chapel in Old Ebonheart, right?). Quality Restore Health would be useful if one of the guards got into a heavy brawl and got his leg split open by an axe and needed to be healed right away.
-Deleted a couple tr_potion_wine_02 since they are valued at 75 gold each. Was thinking of replacing them with Cyro whiskey but that's 100 gold; not something guards would have in their barracks.
-Replaced the Surile Brothers and Tamika's wine with cheap and Sutch wine since they're much more affordable for guards.
-Deleted one of the Com_Basket_01_POS since it was almost impossible to reach; left the other two baskets alone.
-Moved the spools closer to the hidden door. (Doesn't having the name "hidden door" on a hidden door make it.... not-hidden?)

-Pathgrid was already established when I got this so I left it alone.
-Cleaned with TESAME

As far as the setup and presentation, this is a great barracks for guards. But with the potions, gold coins, fancy plates and alchemy equipment, it felt like I was in the home of a mage or alchemist. Barracks should be bare bones with only things they need to survive. Decoration should be kept to a minimum, which is why I left the plates at an angle but changed them to being not-so-valuable. Decorations are mostly to impress guests and visitors but the only visitors the guards would get here would either be the captain to inspect their living quarters, or local prostitutes or prisoners.

*Why is TR_misc_potion_01, an empty glass bottle, valued at 20 gold when all the vanilla glass bottles are valued at 1 gold?

Supposedly the TR_misc_potion_XX bottles are meant as decorative and are therefore expensive. Agreed, they could be little less expensive -- maybe around 10 drakes?

If we had several variations of different textures, we could value them between 5-15 gold. Just an idea if we wanted to get creative with the decorative glass bottles. In fact, we could even name them that. All we need to do is have different textures made. (Apologies for going off topic)

We do have them in different colors (TR_misc_potion01-04) valued at 20 and 25 drakes. They're more expensive than silverware plates (priced at 17), so I'd lower the value to maybe 5-10. Will suggest this in Data errors thread.

I'm one step ahead of you, although I'm not sure if I posted in the correct thread or not.

Light settings ok
Removal of calcinator – good. Agree 100% with logic.
Removal of fire salts – ok – not really a food ingredient anyway.
Replacement of blue plates – fine. Agree 100%.

Posting to TR_Data Updates thread fine.

Additional Changes Made:
Moved some of the door markers so that they were not bleeding with anything. If a door marker intersects with anything, there is a change the player will get stuck when going from one room to the other. This seems to be especially true if the player is levitating.

Moved the bar unit, in lower kitchen area, into the wall, eliminating gap in back, and making it a bit easier to get to hutch area.

Lowered health of all weapons and armor to 1/3 full health or lower. Armour and weapons laying around should not be at full health.

com_chest_02_v_armor11 replaced with com_chest_02_k02 (vendor chests should not be here)

com_cupboard_01_pos in lower kitchen replaced with com_cupboard_01_tankard. Locked other com_cupboard_01_pos due to it containing random_loot_special. Would be nice if the lock would scale with the loot – but not easily done.

While I agree with Tes96 that a restore_endurance potion is not that useful for a typical guard, it was in the hidden area and could have been something one of the guards “foundâ€Â￾ and wanted to save for future use or to be sold. But I left the restore health potion there.

Added some locks to some of the chests, and adjusted the lock values on a few.

Removed com_cupboard_wood_utens from upper area. Not appropriate. Replaced with furn_com_tapestry_04.

Removal of the scuttle was not really necessary. First we are in Morrowind, so local cuisine would be readily available. Second, Dunmer are in the Imperial Legion and would probably want foods that they are accustomed to. But it is a minor issue, so the removal of the scuttle is fine.

Replaced TR_chest_small_02_ingf4 with chest_small_02_silverwa. The ingredients were for an alchemist, not a kitchen.

Hidden Room
Why there is a hidden room here, I'm not clear on. But I would expect the guards, or at least one of them, to hide their most valuable possessions here, or this may be where one of the guards keeps his/her ill-gotten bribes. Spools of thread and wooden bowls just don't seem to fit. But the expensive wine does. I've returned a few of the wine bottles, removed the spools of thread, replaced the common robe with an expensive robe, and hid a piece of amethyst inside a wooden bowl, which is inside a bigger wooden bowl. I dont expect anyone to find the Tektite on top of the chandelier. The 3 baskets, com_basket_01_pos, were a bit much, so removal of the hard to get to one is fine. Its removal was due to the over-abundance of baskets/loot, not that it was hard to get. Some things should be hard to get, especially if there is something valuable in it.
Naming the wall section “Hidden Doorâ€Â￾ is a Bethesda thing – not TRs. I agree that it makes it more obvious, but the player does have to notice it first, and hidden doors are not that common. If the wall section was not named, then a note, or quest would need to be made in order for the player to find it. It is not common practice for the player to try and "activate" walls to see if they are secret doors. But this room is of no real significance so it is left as is.

Comments Good job to Bero and Tes96.
I do agree that this place is a bit too homey, and should be more up to "Military" standards. But that is something that should have been mentioned early on. I will try to keep an eye out for this kind of stuff in the future. As it is, its okay for usage and shouldn't detract from the overall feel of the guards in O.E.

I shall merge this into OE section file.
