Added to Asset Browser. -10Kaziem

Making some of the salt formations from http://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/content/deshaan-plains-assets

No texture yet obviously, but UVs, vertex colouring, and collision mesh are done.

Just uploading .blends for someone helpful to export to nif.

Salt Formation 01 – uncapped underneath

Salt Formation 02 – capped

Salt Formation 03 – uncapped

Salt Formation 04 – capped

Excellent start, though I’ve already commented on IRC on how the use of quads might lead to a suboptimal poly count for the level of detail. The main change I’d suggest so far, from looking at the image, would be to add more vertex shading along the crevices running up the model. As far as textures are concerned, I don’t know of any so far. They should look something like this:

Textures are not a big concern at the moment, though.

http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/Blender For a tutorial on how to export to nif.

Does: concepts, textures, youtube vids, admin stuff e.g. PR, handbook, assets, small website things. Activity level: wildly unpredictable. Still active. Find me on Discord.

Added one more. Uncapped again because it’s substantially easier to make them feel good when there’s only one orientation. If capped is definitely preferred then I’ll have to deviate from the concepts a little more, but let me know!

And still just .blends, almost all of the links and images on that wiki seem to be dead. I can just export to .obj and then import directly into nifskope, but it seems to ignore my UVs, and probably the vertex colours too. I’ll play around a bit more and see if I can get it working properly.

I just checked the installation links, they should be good to go. You’ll need an older version of python and Blender which can exist concurrently with the modern versions.

I’m updating this sporadically by the way, if the edits don’t show up as new.

At the moment I can’t create a nif with UVs and vertex colours intact, so I’m still just uploading the .blends. If anyone can help me convert a 2.76b .blend to nif without having to redo the UVs or vertex colours in 2.49, then let me know!
