GameInformer's TESV Wishlist (or, how to ruin TES)

Read . Discuss. How many of these things would work in the world of the Elder Scrolls? How many of these things are utter rubbish? How many times have you said something along the lines of the stuff in this article? Ho...

Ok. I can (kind of) begin testing for anything Morrowind-related. My machine handles the game rather poorly (it's a crappy laptop), but I can do it. Oblivion, however, will have to wait for a bit. I'm in a straight-leg brace at the moment, so sitting at my desktop is impossible. However, I should be...

Hi Tennyson, I see that you are a playtester as well. So if you want to learn quests, this is one of the quickest ways to get some experience on how it's made. When you are ready to do so, we could use your playtesting help. And I hope that an admin gives you the TR Tester tag, so you have access t...

The whole script for a tavern is in one script, usually Pub_Whatever_The_Name_Is, which is applied to the NPC that offers the bed (namely the Publican). You have to make a global that is used in the script. Now, I'm not a scripter, so for the tavern in my showcase I [manually] copied a vanilla Pub ...

Awesome, thanks Haplo. That's actually more in-line with the way my brain functions anyway (ADHD, attention span of a monkey in a toy store), so it definitely makes sense for me to do each step at a time.

Of course, that means I actually have to stick with it through all the individual steps... ;)

Hey, I'm working on a tavern for morrowind, but I need a checklist/to-do list to make sure everything gets covered. What else do I need? 1. Exterior (building and location) 2. Interior (building and clutter, drinks, furniture) 3. NPCs, including barkeep, and related scripting (this scares me a bit, ...

I hate to just jump in and say this, but I'm not crazy about a Daedric ruin being the Indoril stronghold. I may be biased though, because I pretty much hate all smuggler/daedra/Sixth House camps. This is a bit off-topic, but I imagine an Indoril Stronghold being more like a war fortress. Nerevar was...

Tennyson, Ordinators are a Temple faction, not an Indoril faction. Ordinator armor is simply dubbed Indoril because such a large portion of the Temple Ordinators are from House Indoril. Nah, I know that. I just figured the Ordinators would have made golden armor after House Indoril's colors. Keep t...

No visible errors. The tapestry simply looked flush with the wall, and not its own, separate entity.

But if there's no problem for you, there's no problem for me. ;)

So how does concept art work? Does somebody just take a look and then create models and textures, or is there like a committee that chooses a design?

That's what we ask of beta-testing. We have this dream that the final versions of our maps will indeed be final, perfect. :) Well if that's the case, you'll probably be seeing a lot more of my stuff here. I saw a lot of things that I didn't mention, most of them in books. Also (and I know that this...

Basically, it's a fault with Morrowind. You can't really walk under a tapestry, you kind of just... walk through it. Like I said, it's a good idea. I was just grumbling about the game's limitations, not critiquing your choice to place it there.

The Hlaalu district is really good. I'd like to see it finished (interiors, NPCs, shops). Other than the obvious lack of landscaping, it needs a lot more containers. It also could use some rocks, but that might fall under the category of landscaping. Other than that, the hanging tapestry in the alle...

I have an excellent idea (well, in my opinion anyway), and no way to draw it; I don't have a scanner or a drawing app. Oh well. I'm terrible for jumping into this conversation without having read every post (I skipped pages 2-4), but has there been any discussion about architecture outside the cantons? How can I help?

In what way can I be of most service to the TR team? To be honest, I'm more interested in working on Morrowind than on Hammerfell, but will happily work on whatever you need. What is TR's policy on "faulty" information in books? I was thinking that it might be a good idea to present several points of view on a given subject, with minor contradictions. My basis here is comprised of two parts: 1) There is a bunch we don't know about Hammerfell. Trying to pass som...

Question about the music made for Map 1

First I have to say to the creators of the music made by the TR team for Map 1 that the music is absolutely astounding. Alternatively, are you saying that the TR master files claim to require a different version of certain master files than the ones you have (BLOODMOON.ESM and/or others are in all capital letters)? If this is the case, your version of Bloodmoon is not fully patched. All TR files are based on the hig...
