Okay, took the advice and wrote this. Its a 4-minute piece called Hagathe (In refference to the city in Hammerfell). Now, I'm not sure exactly how the music for Hammerfell is supposed to sound, since its a mix of Asian, Carribean, and Middle Eastern Cultures, so I tried to write this song as 'advent...

I took Don Bernardo's advice and download the program Mixcraft, which seems to be working out pretty well. Here are my samples again (there's a third one now). Hopefully, this will sound better.

That's what I used to make this. Is there ways to make it sound less Midi though?

I do need to know which programs I can use for that. I can't afford much, so I was wondering if there were any quality freeware ones.
