I guess I'll assume this one is good to go. I'll start working on another.

I think I found the middle ground. I went with a sfz attack on the first note then went into a slow crescendo. The dim. didn't sound that great, so good call on the crescendo, Macar. Let me know what you think.

Just listened to your latest music post. I like the flute sound that is prevalent in the first half. The bends in pitch combined with your melody give it a very authentic and unique sound. I'm really at a loss when it comes to explore music though, both in writing it and critiquing it. I might get b...

Macar, thanks for the feedback. I do agree with you, but there are a couple of reasons why I didn't add any dynamics to that note. First and foremost, it was because I recently switched to Cubase and I was ignorant on how to change the volume on a single MIDI note when I wrote this song (I have sinc...

Here's a minor rework of the song. I replaced the horn with tremolo strings in order to provide the feel for impending battle. I like it, but let me know what you think. I also lowered the volume of the brass.

Yeah I was iffy about the horn intro. I wanted an inspirational "call to battle," hence the name of the song, so I thought some sort of solo brass voice at the beginning would be appropriate. I didn't want a trumpet, though it would certainly fit a stereotypical role, so I went with the mi...

Thanks for the welcome back. I'll start a thread for my music as soon as I'm done with my first piece. Are there any requirements for the audio files (type, sample rate, kbs/sec, etc...)?

It's been a long time...

Hey all, I actually tried to get involved in the music dept. here at TR several years ago, but I didn't have the time or technology to really succeed, and I spent more time arguing in the lounge over controversial issues when that was still allowed than doing any work :). Anyway, I've just finished ...

Welcome! Great sounding piece. As one of the (or the only) musician/s who do not have professional music recording software and hardware, I always like people joining who do have professional equipment so that I can send them my MIDIs to "professionalize" them (though I'm not saying I'll m...

This is what I want to know: what will I do with the music I write? I am still writing music for TR, but its been going slow since I don't know what to do with it. When Dragonfly was around, people sent their MIDIs to him so that he could record them with the same sounds that he used for his music, ...

Sorry, I had stopped checking this post because I thought I wouldn't be getting any more replies. @ Enlil: No, I don't mind if you save it. @Aaricus: Well, the time it takes me to actually compose a song varies. Usually though, at times I get "musically inspired," and I'll sit at my keyboa...

Thanks for the input.

I was planning on converting this song to a morrowind-ish style, and I may be able to have the new version complete two weeks from now.

I will be leaving tomorrow and will be gone for a week, so I won't be able to get any composing or posting in for awhile.

Thanks for all the input (this post doesn't mean quit giving input mind you :)) One last time, just to make it clear, and not to critisize anyone's critisism, this is a SAMPLE. My actually songs will be much longer and more drawn out. Also, as I posted earlier, I made this cut this afternoon, in abo...

Thanks Nairb and Promethias My real songs will be more complete, this was just a sample. I did the scale so that everyone could hear what my keyboard sounds like (which is what I use, I don't use a program, but I recorded with Sound Forge 6, if that's what you mean.) Please keep telling me what you ...

One more sample song. Please review!

Ok, I recorded another, smaller sample of my music. This sample uses instruments in which I will probably use when writing TR music, and better demonstrates the style I will use as well. Also, I don't have my mixer right now, so the climax of the sample clipped a bit. As soon as dragonfly gets back,...

I would like to help with music composition. I posted a sample song in The Tavern recently, so if you want to you can check that out. Do you want me to use MIDI sequencing software, or is it ok if I use a keyboard? With the keyboard I use, I am able to record up to 16 tracks individually, then combi...

If you could give me more info on how this music thing works (i.e. music submission, nu...
