Well, hello there, how's everyone been? Since Christmas holidays is nearly here, I thought I'd make a gift to TR, like some fort concepts, or something along these lines. Truth is, I'd be willing to make some models/textures too, but last time I left it half-done and gave you more trouble than help,...

Yes. What remains to be done is just some tedious change-the-position-numbers work, so they'll be ready as soon as I'm done with what I'm currently doing.

I suppose the Smooth modifier could do the work as well, since it only affects the model in a visual, non-geometrical way.

I also wanted to say that the delay of updates will continue for at least a week, since I'm stuck up with this year's final assignment and the deadline is only 20 days away.

I explain the reasons I've not deleted the extra polies in the readme. As for smoothing groups, I've no idea what to do. If I use meshsmooth, the object will have twice its current polies. Should I use a NURBS smooth tool or something?

Just had a fun and possibly very Hell-ish experience. The player's in a dungeon and must get from point A to point B. The catch is that if any of the dungeon's inhabitants comes in contact with him, it's instant death. So, the player must use sneak, or run like hell, hoping he'll not stumble on any ...

Absolutely. The sides (width) of the dock parts I sent you match each other perfectly, since they're all made from the 1st mesh, but I'll go on and change the width accordingly, just in case it causes trouble in the CS. Then I'll merge in one, and send. Each piece is only made from a single mesh, so...

Sorry Morden, I didn't think anyone else would take a look so I uploaded the files as maxscenes for aro, who has max9. I'll export into nif's the next time. Aro, what's that thing with the numbers? You hadn't informed me about it. Do the size values have to be multiples of 2? Like 2->4->8->16->32->....

What aro said. 3DsMax alone is untrustworthy, I can't imagine what it can do to a boolean object when it starts messing everything up. All I can say is you should prefer deleting polys than boolean-ing, and avoid using plug-ins whenever you can, as they can deal severe damage without any obvious rea...

Upload meshes for purpose examine and feedback. A bunch of 17 modular (hopefully functional) pieces for your eyes only. Position checked, pivot points checked, useless faces deleted. Piece 14(Waterway2) isn't in 0,0,0 since it's made of 2 meshes. I wasn't sure whether to attach them or not. Pieces 1...

Well, the sides match perfectly in terms of size, each piece now has its pivot point in the center and has been placed at 0,0,0. You never know however...

Edit: Forgot to mention that I fixed the round part. Now each piece's polycount will be similar to that of a vanilla sidewalk when triangulated.

I rarely ever use splines, so that won't really change a lot As I found out, they're the real deal for architecture. Splines and Loft. Seriously! ...fixing "modulars" is pain, and in many cases they have to be remodelled from a scratch, if they aren't working properly. Have no fear! will ...
