Kanji Dictionary - app for your Nokia mobile
Hey all! I used to do some programming for this website, and since then I have kept myself busy graduating and working. One of my hobbies has also been studying Japanese, so I've been also working on a Japanese-English dictionary for cellphones. Now it's done and published! It's called Kanji Diction...

Leaving to Japan tomorrow
Hey everyone, I'm going to leave on exchange program for Japan tomorrow. Some of you may know about it already and some may not. I will stay there for a full year, in Kitami, Hokkaido. Of course, I'm excited about it and now, after mostly finishing packing my stuff, I only have 24 hours to spend in ...
I have made the createmaps for the maps 4 and 5 because they hadn't been done before. If you are a moderator or an admin, please read this guide so that you know how to update the maps. Here's how they are made: 1) Make createmaps for a particular map. 2) Rename all files so that only the coordinate...

Apart from giving me an undisclosed sum of US dollars, Gez is correct, that's what's needed. I need to make some slight changes to the map as well before anything would work. I don't know anything about the worldspace issues though, but I guess it would work just like TR does. I'm sure that it is po...
I have now integrated the map to the website so that the old version of the accurate map is no longer in use on any part of the website. As moderators, when editing claims, remember that each claim has a node on the map already. Click the Focus button to get there, zoom in if necessary and then chan...

Still not finished, just spent most of my time today uvw unwrapping and texturing. I don't think that the window textures are very good, but I suppose they're going to use some reflection maps anyway? In either case, it was more important that I finally finished the uv unwrapping for the current mod...

NIF plugin 0.5.8 for Maya 8.5
The version on http://www.niftools.org only works for Maya 6.5 and 7.0. I compiled the plugin from sources to support Maya 8.5. I'll upload this to NifTools later as well since it might find a bit more audience there.

I started working on this, http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y171/PoHaEiFor/ConceptArt/Model%20Concepts/GoldmoorMC6.jpg but I really don't understand the concept fully. It looks like shown in the attachment, but I think that this is not how the actual concept looks like. The screenshot also shows the...

I'm happy to hear that you like my warhammer :) I'd like to see it in the game as well, so why not make a quest around it? You can design one in a showcase thread, just post one in this forum: http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/old_forum/viewforum.php?f=203 We don't have a lot of people making quests right ...
angelus: Yeah, I can try if I can adjust the jpg quality a bit lower in order to achieve a lower file size. I don't know how low it can be realistically dropped though. Anyway, the way it works is so that it loads files from outside flash itself. The actual flash file is just 23kb or something and e...
sup bernon :v Thanks for the idea about the cache! After reading that post, I figured out a way how to use the cache to keep the files in memory. Flash is able to load from browser cache, but it doesn't seem to save anything there, so I had to find a way to write to the cache instead. So, now all th...
Flash Map
I wrote a flash application that replaces the accurate map, hopefully. It still has some bugs in it, but hopefully nothing too serious. http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/map/index.php?map=1 http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/map/index.php?map=2 http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/map/index.php?map=3 http://tamriel-rebuilt....

Thanks for all of your comments. Personally, I really liked layout #1 better because of the fixed menu, but having the menu there really makes it much more difficult to design other pages for the layout: for example, fitting the forums view to the display area with those boxes on the right-hand side...

They're in the attachment. I won't go through them again in this post since the survey should explain the main issues we encountered.
Thanks for participating! I really hope we can make your work easier and make the whole website more approacable in general.

Here are two experimental layouts for a new version of Tamriel Rebuilt website/forums. Please remember, that this is a layout test, not a graphics test! We'll make plans of what should be programmed and provide at least pictures of what the site layout should look like, if not html/css layout as w...

I need your help! Actually, it would be ideal if EVERYONE , regardless of their rank, posted in this thread. As a school project, I'm working on a web design document with three other people. To help with this, I have a few questions. I will post a questionaire later, but for now, please share your ...

The new site admin recruitment post
Hey, I'm going to leave my post as the webmaster in one week. This means that I don't want to update the site anymore. I want to do other stuff than write thousands of lines of code for a website. Perhaps something that I might actually get a kick out of. Anyway, I'm sure it's not updating the claim...

Hey,
As some of you might remember, I took a leave from TR last February since I went backpacking in Southeast Asia and Japan as well. Here are pictures, in case you're interested:

Ludovic: Oh, that's not really a bug. It's because the claim in question is not positioned correctly in the accurate map. What you need to do is the following. If the claim has an old type of coordinates, eg. (1,-23), click on To Map link and verify that the claim is correctly positioned in the map ...

I've so far fixed the broken links and the accurate map, I think. Full claim list in claims browser needs some other work, I will try to figure something out. I'm going to leave TR along with any other obligations I have in life, because I'm going on a trip to southeast Asia. I'm not coming back in several months, possibly as long as June or something. Unless something happens to me or my life changes in some way, I will be back with TR by that time. I ho...
