AFI isn't that bad, but I don't pretend that they're punk. As to metal, try Nightwish, Blind Guardian, or Iced Earth, and come back when you have :) Heard their stuff. Hate it. And let's face it, the lead singer of AFI is a drag queen who sounds like a 12 year old. If you went back to the 80's, jus...
I'm of the opinion that all modern rock sucks. Look at modern punk. You've got bands like AFI, My Chemical Romance, and Fallout Boy. That's the popular punk, which is emo bullshit. Now some people will say that the good stuff is never on the radio, and that the best punk was always underground. Cra...

The mod tool was designed for Source Engine editors, so yeah, it's meant to be only good for Half-Life, really. The Advanced package of XSI can make some pretty photorealistic stuff if you're persistent. It's what was used for the Myst series, in it's previous incarnations, and it's what's used for ...

That is a 3D model for the sword, Joco. A nice one too, but the texture makes it look, well the textures kinda fruity, truth told  The hat if purple/blue would serve well for a Mage. Maya is most definetely NOT free. It's not as bad as SoftImage though ... you could pay for college tuitions...

A very off-colour joke, at that ;) It's getting to the point where you really shouldn't need as much storage as we have available. Personally, it's the same as 3D, I find. We can now render things with polys into the tens of millions (or hundreds of thousands in games) - but do we really need that m...

The King of Worms is one aspect of the being they worship, but it is nonetheless the aspect they worship. The particulars of the worship are clouded in biased articles in lore, both for and against Necromancy, but mostly against. One thing is for sure, the political climate surrounding Necromancy is...

First of all, I apologize for the double post, however my last post was on tuesday and I felt that the new content justified bumping the topic. Without further ado, a collection of random stuff from the past week. Since I'm working full time it's been hard to have the time to work on anything straig...

Daggerfall was 3D. With sprites. [Edit: And I would hardly call Daggerfall's art polished (I have seen the screens). Though, there is a huge technology gap between the two.] The direct comparison was to the pixel art in the character inventory screen to the 3D representation of the character in Mor...

Neither of those games would fly with the ESRB. :\ Nothing flys with the increasingly conservative ESRB these days. Of course I love the hypocrisy that we have have people gored in horrific ways (Soldier of Fortune, anyone?) and it's acceptable but as soon as some girl shows off her tits, its compl...

1000's is an exaggeration. There were, in fact, 112 books in Daggerfall, and a handful of special cases which were generated by the game and not BOKxxxxx.txt files (which are more or less plaintext, so you can leaf through all the books in the game with Notepad if you feel so inclined). It just feel...
