Perhaps you should check at soundsonline or cubase support forums. I'm sure there's someone there who can help you with those problems. I'm afraid I'm not really the best person, because last few years I've been only writing for live musicians and haven't even got Cubase installed at the moment. Can...

Oh, I thought you were using the software listed in your third post. EWQL and Cubase is pretty much what I use myself and it should not cause the problems you mention. How do you add the dynamics that then are gone? Are you exporting in realtime or using that other option that takes longer (cannot r...

Hi Leon, I was a music modder, wrote a few pieces a few years ago, but have been too busy with RL composing lately to contribute any more. Happened to check the forums for what is going on with TR and saw your thread, so I thought I could just as well give a few thoughts on your piece. First of all,...

An F is ok... but you must realise that this is the highest note a pro horn player can play - its rather difficult. Pros can usually go way beyond F, I've heard playing up to Bb a fourth above. The Sibelius preset pro-ranges are quite on the safe side for most instruments. But you are right that F ...

Here's the thread: http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/old_forum/viewtopic.php?t=19710 It turned out that a fully functional music script is impossible. We still can release different tracks to each region and recommend players to use these when going to Hammerfell. Then they can choose if they wish to fully...

I'm definitely interested in making sounds. I've got some experience, a bit of education, David Sonnenschein's magnificent book "Sound Design", a decent microphone and Wavelab 6, what more do I need? :) :D

I'll have a look through the sounds browser as soon as I get home from my vacation!

Nice work! You're improving all the time! :) I like the more melodic parts from 0:33 to 1:43 the most. The beginning and the ending feels perhaps a bit too hectic (I mean it sounds really great, but perhaps too hectic for town music...). Is there any specific reason why you left out all wind instrum...

I agree with Haplo, overclocking is probably not the most economically efficient way to go... I have the Geforce 7900GS as well and it runs OB like a dream. Before upgrading anything, I'd suggest you'd find out exactly what kind of motherboard you have and how well it can be upgraded. If you don't have a PCI-E slot and you are using the slowest processor mentioned on the OB-list, then you might have something like a socket-A motherboard, for which you'l...

That's much better! Now it perhaps feels even a bit too sparse toward the end, but that could very well change if I would hear it in the game in a spooky nightmare. After all, the main goal is not to make tracks that sound good as musical pieces alone, but tracks that enhance the gaming experience. ...

I like it! It's definitely in the right direction. Somehow it might even be too much stuff in there. In terms of being scary, less is more. If you think about film music, when they want to be really scary, it's very sparse, or they just make it silent (an effect I'm sure we'll also use in Quagmire)....

For OB we'll be making Quaqmire, the daedric realm of nightmares, so we will need some spooky music for that. overhaul = examine and repair. I mean that we should listen to the music we have, find out if we want to keep each track or replace it, improve any tracks that we think needs improving (if we have access to the required original files) and finally, if it already works, don't try to fix it. I suppose...
