Oy, submitting for review. Homeboy makes potions for the locals in exchange for food/ingredients/booze. I think it'd be a nice touch to have him have a steel mace since he's a former Redoran guard/soldier. I haven't done this in a while so please don't go easy on me. Wasn't able to playtest because ...

Starting out simple and claiming this if that is okay. I'm thinking standard rustic hermit cave, but I want to imply that he's a former soldier, so I'll put in some old (Redoran) military memorabilia. Nothing major, maybe even just a helmet.

Oh, that's totally within my skill level. I remember doing something like that for claims a long time ago. The beauty of ArcGIS is that it uses vector data, so you can work on a large scale map and still be able to keep track down to a single building. I just gotta get it on this machine and we'll b...

Hey Nemon, glad to see a lot of the vets are still around! I'm liking the sexy new forum skin, too. That's cool, I was actually considering doing a shapefile for Morrowind in ArcGIS. Very, very tedious work, but I think the end product would be beautiful. What level of accuracy are we talking? Like,...

Oh hey guys

Hey guys! It's been years, but after going through half a decade of school, work, unemployment, more work, and the usual hardships of young adulthood, I finally bought myself a decent laptop. To those who may not be familiar, I was a member from back in '03-'07. I'm really into cartography - you guy...

There's like 10 bottles or so in the game; which means using the model for Ancient Dagoth Brandy would alter the vanilla game and would conflict with other texture replacers.

The MW stategy guide translates Indoranyon as 'Blessed Green Fields' or something to that degree, so it is official.

Saint Felms, Saint Seryn (who was a guar, apparently), Saint Lothis, and a few more.

I vote Seryn. She doesn't get enough airtime IMO. And she's a guar.

My point was that every name for a city originally had a meaning; whether it's lost or not. I get your argument, though and it brought up a perfectly valid point that I didn't see before. Names of cities don't really have to be in Dunmeris; they could borrow from Argonian, Native Dunmeris, Cyrodiili...

Names of cities always have meanings though. That's why they're named. And if we have a large list of aesthetically pleasing words we can make shit look cool and varied while having a bit of meaning behind it for the anal-retentive people like me.

That's what I was saying, though. If the language was expanded, we wouldn't be worrying about this. Whether the words are aesthetically pleasing or not is up to the creators since it's a constructed language. How is this not a solution?

Sooo, do you think it would be feasible to just make up the rest of the Dunmeri language seeing as how this seems to be a huge problem? You know, just enough to make a more enhanced system for nomenclature?

I noticed that a couple dungeons in MW are named after Pokemon - like Marowak's Spine and Kakuna Burial. Ashurbanipal is a Daedric ruin and also the name of an Assyrian king. In fact, Ashlander language and Daedric ruin names seem to draw similarities to Assyrian names.

So there's obviously more city with unknown inhabitants but it is all Sotha Sil's creation and as a result Sotha Sil considers himself its only inhabitant. At least, that's how I see it. Assuming Atlantis even existed: 10000/11000 BCE was still during the Ice Age and humans were too focused on hunting mammoths and avoiding hyenas to build significant cities until around 8000 BCE when Jericho was built and we'd harnessed agriculture. But even then it only housed roughly a few dozen p...

Second'd. I can't believe people are even debating this. While we're at it, why don't we rename Vivec just to be consistent? Morrowind sounds kind of Anglicized, too; we should rename it back to Resdayn.
