Mounts...To be? or not.....
Will the game have mounts? Some ideas about it if we don't already...I don't even know if this is possible but give it a look.
1-Mounts can be different creatures and will be found in their respective enviorments...ex:Some type of elk or even a bear maybe in an area with a forest...maybe a turtle on an island...etc..
2- Need to be a certain level to ride a mount and then for a more combative mount you need a higher level
3-Some mounts can be obtained by only a certain class or race...
4- This may be really streching the idea, but maybe we could also have flying mounts....

I think we should have horses in certain areas of Tamriel (no Morrowind, because of reasons already discussed about 50 times). You get to ride a horse in oblivion, so they should be at least in Cyrodiil. As for non-horse mounts, I don't know. Probably not. The idea of riding a bear seems pretty ridiculous.

mounts would own like nobodies business. it would be especially cool if each race could have its own unique mounts it could get, and your mounts could get (mad) skills and you could shoot arrows and stuff. maybe we could modify the Pegas mod script for TR. That would own.
I dont wish I was perfect, I only wish everyone would lower their standards of perfection to my level.

Be realistic. It's way too hard to do. The mountable guar mod out there is the best TES3 plugin of its kind I believe, but even that one isn't good enough to be incorporated into TR. It's a great piece of work, but to make it actually look good to ride an animal like this will require loads of new animations that needs to be incorporated in a way I'm not sure is even possible.

it would still require a buttload of new animations, and it would require some modellers who are already pressed too hard. They won't want to make us a bunch of new horse meshes...especially since there are no horses in Morrowind, and maybe only a dozen or so in north/northeastern/southeastern skyrim.
Anyway...I think there is a FAQ answer on this...although I'm not sure, I believe it's titled:
TR's Stance on Horses. It has a very concise answer.

If you had read Kothloth's post, you would have learned that the best mounted mod out there does not come close to being the kind of quality TR is after. It is not worth our time and effort right now to try and add mountable animals to the game. It may indeed be beyond our abilities to make mountable animals on the Morrowind engine.
If you are so keen on adding mounted animals, you need to hold out for Oblivion, and hope that TR switches over to the TES4 engine when it comes out.
And if anyone starts a debate about switching over to it, I'm gonna grind your ribcage into powder.

About mounts, I heard that the people from MiddleEarth-Mod wanted to include them, but I am not sure, I'll have to check that out. Since their mod was shut down (because of copyright problems) they could perhaps help you out, if they figured out how to do it (which I also have to check out, I only once heard that it was on their priority list and they wanted to do it).
I personally think that mounts should be included, if possible. The main reason for that is ethnological. It is known that cultures without animals to ride or transport have much more problems to develope themselves. The best example for this are the cultures of the american indians of middle and south america. They were highly sophisticated in mathematics, astronomy or architecture, but the lack of any mounts gave them a major disadvantage in their technological advance. It is speculated that if horses wouldn't have been exterminated in America, the whole history of the American Indians would have been quite different. Perhaps they could have even withstood the invading Europeans.
Also we know that horses do exist in Tamriel, about other mounts I am not sure. And adding the above given reason, it would be quite illogical to not include mounts in such sophisticated cultures as the ones of Tamriel.

mounts
what if mounts, when being ridden could,t attack, it seems like that would ballance the bear issue, mabe if it just incresed your speed by a small multiplyer like 1.5 or 2

How about shrines, that, if you give a large donation of resources from an animal, gives you the ability to mount a creature as a power, like say you donate 15 racer plumes you get the power "mount cliffracer" which gives you a temporary decent levitate or 10 guarhides increases your speed and endourance or something.

In Morrowind, mounts aren't very necessary, due to the abundance of silt striders, river striders, and waterways. Mounts would be better for more landlocked areas that would be found more to the west of Morrowind. That's probably why none of the locals ride guar and such...although a book I read one time did mention a man riding a guar.....
