And good news for those who like to take things even further - like Morrowind, Oblivion's construction set will be released to the public. "The Construction Set is dramatically better," he said. "Visually, it looks and feels the same, but the nuts and bolts have been improved and there are many new features that our team is using to put content into the game. Getting quests into the game has never been faster. Additionally, the more ambitious Morrowind mods, like Tamriel Rebuilt, will find it incredibly easier to do in Oblivion. The tools are much more stable, robust, and user-friendly than they were in Morrowind."

I said I would return and I may have been right. The past must stay in the past as agreed. If the core needs me or has a job for me just ask for now I watch and write.

I do find it interesting that Tamriel Rebuilt was mentioned. However, I do not find it strange considering.
I just wish they would finish Oblivion for the anticipation is killing me.

Im not gonna put my foot anywhere (well maybe somewhere )
what they said is it will be easier to mod on it. That I did not say is not true. From what I hear they fixed a bunch of stuff with quest making, npcs, landscaping etc. with the CS
however, I still think modelling for it will be a pain in the ass. Also my main arguement against ES4 modding isnt against changing to it, it is against redoing work we already have done, it is an insult to those who spent years working on this project to think it can just be done so easily. If thats the point, then why do anything, I resign as admin because theres no point in doing any work if we are just gonna redo it.
PS Im not actually resigning I was making a point

They mentionned our name, they didn't praise us in any fashion. Why on earth is every one fainting?
But I'm glad they were thoughtful enough to mention our names. And more then thankful that they clarified that the new CS is superior then the original. Anyhow, I wish they could give us screenies of the new CS. I wonder how they made quest making easier.
I wonder. Could it be possible that they have an index of pre-prepared scripts? And all we have to do is enter the IDs? Or perhaps random quest generators, in which you enter the selected IDs and it generates a quests. And maybe they have a typology list of quest types. Like :kill, fetch, escort.
And maybe they even have a useful interior generator. Is it possible to import new models, lets say trees, into the generators? It'd be neet but I have no clue on how it would work.

Their forrests look natural enough, interiors is a different story.Stalker wrote:Generators must die. They simply ruin things. Yes you can make a whole town with 5 clicks but that you will hardly find any difference between the houses.
Morrowind will be completed in TES3, but we'll eventually have to do it in 4 at some point, we can't just leave a hole in the world where morrowind was.

The construction set itself IS a generator, if you want to do things manually, try creating landscape by hex-editing the binary values into the file. Heck, that hex-editor is probably too automated also...
There is nothing bad about generators that you are in full control over. If you can control all of the crucial parameters then it is you who is doing the job. Not the generator's evil AI . Completely click-and-randomly-generate pieces of software are what should be avoided. And I am sure the construction set of Oblivion will not fall in this category.

Their gameinformer article said that the modder will have alot of control over what goes into the generated area.
It's a fear of change, thats all. look at it as an opportunity to have a better "tamriel rebuilt"
and this comes from a former chronic change hater.

I think we should do the rest of the provinces in TESIV; However in our main quest for morrowind we should somehow make it so no outlanders are allowed to enter the province ever again without proper papers (which wont exist) or something - this way, we could make a believable reason for morrowind not being there when we get to TESIV.
Oh, and majra, we wont have to make new models for EVERYTHING. since they are building "miles into the other provinces", i'm sure much of the models will already be there for us.

I think that if we were going to do it in TES IV we should honestly stop now so all of the effort we put into it until then isn't wasted. Really, it seems so pointless to me to work for this long and then stop because something fancy and new comes out. Do you stop driving your 2004 model car when the 2005 model comes out?

We aren't really making Tamriel to finish it, we are actually making it to have fun. It's a hobby to keep us from getting bored and killing ourselves.I think that if we were going to do it in TES IV we should honestly stop now so all of the effort we put into it until then isn't wasted. If I could afford a 2005-model, I might buy it, and leave my 2002-model at home, probably because the 2002-model used way too much gas per trip... What DID the developers THINK of ?Sload Lord wrote:...Do you stop driving your 2004 model car when the 2005 model comes out?

We will finish MW province in the TES 3 engine. that is indisputable.
Chances are TES4 will be out before we start skyrim. If we switch to tes4 we'll start with skyrim (or possibly somewhere in the west instead?)
We have a long while to go, so lets keep ourselves on track.
