Rowboat script

Post by andreas of austevoll »

It would have been cool to have a script that enables you to row rowboats

Sell'n'Sail Galleon allows you to steer a scripted boat or ship, but no animation.

The animations (i.e. the rowing actions of the PC) would take many days (to my uncertain knowledge) which could have been used productively, considering TR doesn't have (to my knowledge) any pilotable craft. Perhaps someone here (Or on ESF) could do it as a personal project.

The animation wouldnt be so hard, but having everything align up once its done would be.

Boats ant ships

Post by Rubacant »

They should use Morrowind Enhanced.exe.

I was play and testing the boats and ship mods and found a few thing about them.

If the ship or boat is moveing if you drop a item it hovers off same with team mates.

Cant go in the ship wile its moveing.

Ship turn speed is to fast and real ships can turn that fast.

Collision stuff needs work. You can back a ship in to some thing and the models will over lap. Same with Items and team mate problem.

But when use the ships it brings a hole new feeling to morrowind.

Black light would be a good place to buy ships.

I used stormrider for a few days... it stopped working for no apparent reason. Tried everything... I just couldn't control the blasted thing :S.

Just wanted to make sure that no one decided to use this mod. I know this post is somewhat irrelevant to the topic, but I just wanted to warn every one about this while it is mentioned.

I've personally found the boats and ships that madmax added to be extremely fun to use, despite the minor shortcomings that the older-type ships had. [Which are still dynamite in my eyes compared to other stuff.]

If you've downloaded the Ultimate Galleon mod, it's advanced enough that not only you can walk around on the ship, so can your companions and even horses. [which is another breakthrough] Those are massive things that not too long ago people thought would be utterly impossible, but would be great to have.

Tamriel Rebuilt can't do everything [legally, that is. >__>], and I think that a lot of people would understand that. I myself don't think that it would be fitting to remove an extremely fun mode of transport just because you couldn't fit in a few animations.

It'd be awesome to be able to buy ships or even galleons in ports all across Morrowind. Maybe some quests that net you things from tiny rowboats to large galleons [these would have to be very sparingly dispatched]. It would add a layer of realism and depth that's sorely lacking from Morrowind.

The fishing mod had boats you could pilot to, and they did have colision messages and slow stearing (depending on speed) I really liked that mod but never caugth a fish tho.

Your thinking of "Fishing Academy". Which in my opinion is a fun mod. Though of course, like said before, no animations. Still fun though and you could put the rowboat on the ship. The ship is the two story one, that you can go into. Thats how I would take my companions with me, put them on the second story of the ship, then go up and sail away...

"Come sail away. Come sail away. Come sail away with me..."
Queen, gotta love it. =)
