Rickling settlements
We know Ricklings are pretty clever, as they can talk and domesticate tusked bristlebacks,so why shouldn't there be some kind of rickling camps
I would see them as being pretty primitive, stone age kind thing
Not towns,now, just few huts

They seem to typically live in ice caves.
I think they would be considered "snow goblins" their ability to talk and domesticate beasts, as well as make equipment for themselves puts them a step above creatures. They would be about equal to the imga.
Seeing some kind of tribal settlement wouldn't be objectionable in my opinion.

This would probably be a bolt-on, due to the strict no changing Vvardenfell rule. So if anyone REALLY wants this, maybe you should make a thread in the bolt-on section. I see no reason on making many settlements. Maybe just a cave where there would be a VERY large amount of Rieklings.

I always kinda thought that the Reiklings on Solestheim were servants of Kharstaag, and that they lived in his castle. If we went by that assumption, then we might be able to evade a bolt on at all.
It might even be a funny dialogue option to have Skyrim Reiklings comment about it in jealousy.

Huh? What would be affecting the original Vvarvenfell? Unless you're planning to change the stuff on Solstheim?

I thought he wanted to change Solstheim. Or did he want to make settlements in Skyrim?

1) You could have just edited your post instead of doubling. No biggie though.

LOL, that's okay, but what's the answer?Artemis Entreri wrote:Sorry CommonsNat, I can be very stupid sometimes and forget what I said a minute before.
This doesn't suggest that the Ricklings are Falmer, just somewhat intelligent enough to make rough dwellings.blackchipmunkjay wrote:It would be hard to convince the core about this because lore never fully answers whether the rieklings are the remnants of the Falmer or not. Making settlements would force TR to answer that question.

IGLOOS!
Well, they make metal weaponary and hide clothing, maybe a stick dwelling is a little TOO primitive. From what I have seen, I can imagine them living in very low-tech yurts, not like the Ashlanders (whose tents are actually very well built). I'm thinking very teepee-ish, four angle poles with a large quilt of hide wrapped around it. Shouldn't be incredibally hard to model.

That sounds too civilised. It would most likely be a maximum of 20 ricklings based from that cave with a crude pen for the boar things.mister_priscilla wrote:I like the idea of caves, it's more in keeping with the original game. Maybe there could be a large cave-city in Skyrim, ice-tunnel streets with boar pens and stuff, all underground. Could also be a good quest idea.
I dunno, just a thought.

I doubt they could fashion any kind of shelter that could withstand the weather, so caves sound better.
Maybe they could have a sort of camp outside of the caves. You know, a sort of hide overhang to keep the snow out, and a few Rieklings to act as guards.

There are caves in Solstheim with what appear to be animal skin flaps covering them, if I am not mistaken. This sounds to me like the extent of a snow goblin's structure-building capacity. Also, since there are a lot of Rieklings in Solstheim, but there are no Riekling-built structures aside from the possibility of caves, it stands to reason from the lore we have that they do not build structures and most likely live in caves with animal flaps.
It is also seen in the game that the rieklings actually keep their bristlebacks fenced in within the caves they are presumably living in, and this is accomplished with tied sharpened wood stakes in a circle.

Trudging through the relentless Skyrim snowstorms, the lone Paladin looks on in sorrow as the land of Tamriel evolves without him; his mind occupied with other matters.
