Castle for Skyrim?

Post by Achronos »

http://photobucket.com/albums/v516/Korana/Solstheim%20Castle/

on this site there are many different pictures of a castle being created by a modder named Korana. maybe this person can be contacted to help with skyrim? the castle looks amazing and with the enviornment also created, it looks like it could fit in with skyrim

Awesome, did Korona make those window textures, anyway, you'l have to talk to someone that knows more about lore than I do, but they look cool.

It is a very cool castle mod. lots of new and origional content. i'm currently testing it with Korana. it should be out this weekend with any luck.

but just to clear something up. those aren't her models. they are of a completely new tileset made by Zyndaar and they can be found here if you are a forum member

I think some of the texturing could be tweak, but on the whole, its pretty good. I think the trimming around the top could be fixed a bit too.

gotta agree with sload over here.
still, this guy has insane skill... but what the fuck is with the naked people everywhere? what the hell is the purpose of that?
and why is this thing next to the skaal village? why would such a huge castle be literally in the middle of nowhere?
Great modding, but alot of the logic doesnt really fit... but it doesnt matter, looking at that banquet hall actually made me start feeling hungry and sensing the delicious aroma in my mind.

That's lady to you...thankyouverymuch!
but what the fuck is with the naked people everywhere? what the hell is the purpose of that?
Those would be mannequins...you can tell by their stance. Everyone else in the castle is dressed...except for one girl who does not have a top on...and that's fixable because she has companion share.
and why is this thing next to the skaal village?
The village you see in the screenshots is not the skall village...it's a village I built. The castle is near the skall village yes...but it's a good swim away.
why would such a huge castle be literally in the middle of nowhere?
Because in case you havn't noticed...too many mods take up most of the available sea space around Solstheim. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices to meet compatibility issues. The castle was moved several times...it was originally much further south.

I think some of the texturing could be tweak, but on the whole, its pretty good. I think the trimming around the top could be fixed a bit too.
If you have any suggestions for Zyndaar, the best bet would be to contact him/her. I've been asked questions about the set...there might be an update in the future...and feedback like this does me no good...but it might do him/her some good. And the textures on the walls look awesome in game...but that's my opinion. I already had one person put their opionion on Zyndaar's meshes in their review of the castle on the Summit...
Where are from the fishes on grill?????
Those are cait's models. I just removed their animation in max so they could make effective hanging ingrediants.

Awesome, did Korona make those window textures
The original textures are from Alcar's Imperial set. However, I colored them to a yellow, glow mapped the windows, created the glow map texture, and retextured the window frame to match Freedom Keep for the exterior.

Welcome to TR then. Have any questions - feel free to PM me, or anyone of the Core. Also, the new group of Welcomers might help you out too, but they're better for people new to forums/modding in general.

Edit - Of course not, dexter, I thought you knew that! Freedom Keep uses slightly lighter textures than Korana's.

My my...
Most definately not...

Freedom Keep is located in the Sheogard region I believe...and it's much much BIGGER. Most of the statics I used had to be resized to .5

The textures should be the same...unless Zyndaar updated since the last time you downloaded Freedom Keep.

I'm also not using the Freedom Keep interiors. The plain old imperial interiors where much lighter and easier to build with. I am however using a texture replacment in those screenshots. (I had someone nitpick at me for that...the castle walls are thick- two layers of stone to keep the cold out! Imagination is a good thing...people should use it more often.)

Lol that's the average Dexter for you. He's our local erm...'benevolent dictator' I guess you could call him. Just don't call him a cook, it's 'chef'. He's big on Imperial tilesets, and he's also the person in charge of Old Ebonheart. You should check out his progress screens here:

Well, what's the point of pre-clothed mannequins, except to make some screenshots?

You put clothes on a mannequin in the mod, then the player has to remove those clothing when they change the mannequins' outfits, then find a suitable place to store so many outfits that they would probably not wear....it's a big hoopla you can avoid by simply not pre-dressing the mannequins.

Many of my first CS experiences where loading up the CS and removing clothing from pre-clothed mannequins in other mods...when you are using 10 or so mannequins at a time that got annoying really quick...although I did build a nice tower out of common shirt and pants GNDs in a house mod I used once....

Notice how the mannequins in that screenshot use Better Bodies? If the player uses smoother bodies or the Bethesda bodies, or even the undies version of Better Clothes, the mannequins will have those bodies....a little less nude I suppose.

Korana, I just opened your plugin in the editor to look at it, and the interiors are amazing. You have some new Imperial pieces, did you make them yourself? The interior building for Old Ebonheart's castle is coming up, do you think we could possibly use your interior models for TR?

korana doesn't do modelling...yet :) there are a few things in there like Dongles transparent windows and ThreadWhiperers retextured redoran. they are all listed in the readme. and all are available for use iirc.

TW retextured Redoran would be perfect for Castle Ebonheart IMO. heres a few examples i whipped together of what the set can do:

*i brightened them up in photoshop a little but they are still kinda dark.
