feel free to ask any lore of me any time
Without a symbol is fine, but having a faction specific symbol also would be preferable. I'd agree with stalker, the fighters guild would probably be the most likely to use bronze armor, that or non FG mercenaries/adventurers/private guards.

"There is no dark side of the moon really. Matter of fact, it's all dark."
I suggest you don't use any iconography on the bronze armor.
Now, I know there has been talk of this before, but I never saw a finished Imperial Templar shield. Maybe it slipped past me and I never saw it, and since Armor of Tamriel has been delayed longer than Half Life 2, I have no idea if it exists or not. However, if indeed we do not have an Imperial Templar shield, I would like to see you do one for us. I figure there would be two variants, a towershield and normal shield. The towershield would obviously be based on the Imperial towershield model, and the smaller shield could be based on the iron shield, which has a very Roman-esque feel to it. Both these shields would have the Imperial dragon icon on it. You can find this icon on the Imperial flags on the exterior and interior of any Imperial fort.

There's a mod somewhere. On Summit perhaps. It adds a retextured Legion shield into Templar one. Looks very and very nice.
Now back to our symbols. I'm npt saying Legion will use it. I'm just saying that I'm 90% sure that this armor was made by Imperials. Dunmer are not into metal craft you know...

Wasn't it said that there wans't too much ore on morrowind, or was that just vvardenfell?Stalker wrote:There's a mod somewhere. On Summit perhaps. It adds a retextured Legion shield into Templar one. Looks very and very nice.

Dexter you mean I should drop the bronze armor project for now and do some templar shields? I can do that, but i have noe clue how they should look like. Should i just add anthe imperia dragon to the 2 shields you suggested, or should I change more stuff. Maybe theres someone who can draw one for me real quick?
Stalker, you mean the imperials migth have made them, to trade or sell to others? or maybe to equip their regiments that they don't see as important or as part of their main army.
@eraser, I'm not sure, the figthers guild have a logo rigth? I beleve they have a banner at their guild house in balmore. (but i'm not sure, havent played MW in a while)
Could be bronze plated, like the silver (I believe that is steel plated with silver). Would be mainly for show.Starcrunch wrote:Bronze - for impreial armor? They use steel...bronze would be very antiquated metallurgy for such a powerful, "modern", and technically developed culture like the Imperials.

No, I mean Imperial smiths (I mean the ones who just live in The Empire, not serve it) crafted it. For sale for example. Like Steel armor.Amrod the Bard wrote: Stalker, you mean the imperials migth have made them, to trade or sell to others? or maybe to equip their regiments that they don't see as important or as part of their main army.

Well thats what I said in the first option. Actually that sound very logical. the keep the best stuff and sell the stuff that they don't use. But would they place an imperial symbo on it then, maybe to show that they made it and show off their craftsmanship.Stalker wrote:No, I mean Imperial smiths (I mean the ones who just live in The Empire, not serve it) crafted it. Heres the same shield again. this time it has a texture made from scratch by me. It looks quite nice. tell me what you think, is it better or worse then the previous textures? Also, the deadric runes have no particular meaning, it just looked so dull without any decoration .
Anyway, i'll just keep trying to get the best texture because TR deserves only the best. (though the crappy JPEG conversion makes it look far worse) I'll upload the high res, bigger picture as PSD in a winrar file, later.

Yeah its just to fill it up a little, I also couldve used greek letter or whatsoever, its just meant to show the new texture. Its not like daedra use bronze anyway . But thanks. You guys think I should go for this one or the previous texture?Arthmodeus wrote:You might want to fix the Daedric 'A'. Its backwards. Other than that, nice job.
Did you read my posts Stalker . I said it was just to show the texture. I will not put deadric letters on the shield. I'll look up the imperial symbol probally and use that. I could go with the old textures or try and mess some more with these. Anway, think i'll go with the old but well see, I'm not gonna rush this anyway so why not take the time for this.Stalker wrote:Personal opinion: it looks much worse than previous ones.
Plus I think we have decided that it'll Imperial shield and these are Daedric aka native to Morrowind letters.
Probably not if you're askingAmrod the Bard wrote: Did you read my posts Stalker .

Maybe I need to add some cloud or noise to it or something. I don't know every single function in PS7 yet, but i'll keep experimenting. Any tips how I could make it less like fabric? (btw feel free to give your opinion, it doesn't help if I think it looks good and the rest of the world thinks it sucks.)Stalker wrote:Probably not if you're askingAmrod the Bard wrote: Did you read my posts Stalker .I think this shield looks like it was made from fabric. EDIT: OMG, I just looked at the texture and I totaly see what you mean by: "It looks like fabric". I think some blurring would fix that though. I'll update it soon.
1 Normal
2 Crosshatch
3 New color, Blur
4 New color, More Blur
5 Blur
6 More blur
Tell me if those are any better. Else i'm just gonna use the old textures.

The old ones are also not completely mine. used someone elses textures and edited those a bit. Doesn't feel as satisfying as making it all yourself. But if you think the others are better (And they are) I will use those. You can't stop me from messing with those new ones a little more though .Stalker wrote:Still fabric. I'd say use the old ones.
(actually I think the original texturues I used were actual photo's of the real metals.)
EDIT: bah I cant get it to not look like fabric, its alot better, but still fabric . There must be something that I'm not seeing.
I'm still experimenting. Did A little chain mail body armor, it sucks bad. I'll post it anyway, so you can see i'm still working on it. (Image has been deleted, look below for newer version)

I like the model, but the clours seem odd. If I were to choose the colours I would make the chain more yellowish (looks a lot like copper at the moment) and the straps a more distinct colour like blue. Clean, buffed bronze looks like gold though it really depends on purity and age. Really old weathered bronze (like most statues) is black.

I like that chainmail! Could there possibly be a whole set, almost like that Skaal armor or whatever (but with less solid metal)?
I like the color, but I would like to see steel-ish myself.

Just to set the record straight, Redguards of Hammerfell, and Khajit of Elsweyr would both use Bronze. Being an easy, malleable metal (that is a bit lighter than iron), it suits their smiths perfectly. Redguard, more so than Khajiit. Because both of their respective provinces are the two largest trade ports on Tamriel, the Khajiit have the benefit of the Redguard's craftmenship available in their markets.
Pwn: "The term has become so ubiquitous in Internet circles that it is often used outside of gaming contexts; for example, "he just got pwned in that debate" or "the hunters pwned that bear."
Khajit wear armor?? I mean, ligth armor maybe, but mostly they are naked or wear cloth. I still classify bronze as being medium armor (when it's Mail.Cjad the Nord wrote:Just to set the record straight, Redguards of Hammerfell, and Khajit of Elsweyr would both use Bronze. You are probally rigth abouty the redguards though.
Amrod, read Cherim's Heart of Anequina. The Khajiit seem to have a special love for Medium Armor. I could see Elsweyr's ranks wearing this. 'Really like the chainmail, keep up the good work.
