Welcome to the project. Let us know what you would like to do. Interiors are not the only thing to do here, but they are certainly a very important part. Take your time, learn to find a way around the forums. Also, please read through the FAQs here. Those should give you a good idea of how the project works with regards to lore and the like. Also, this website is the best place on the internet to learn about lore.

l33tspeak is annoying, but being a jerk to a newbie is much, much worse.

I've found that having played Sims of all games can be really helpful when creating and decorating a home, because you know what needs to be there to make it a livable place. It might help if you ask yourself: Can they prepare and cook food? Is there a dinner table and chairs? Are there beds to sleep in? Do they have books to entertain themselves with? Perhaps they want access to other hobbies, like sowing or fishing, which there is items for. Try to put yourself into the head of a person living in that home - feel free to navigate the camera inside your home model while doing that - that can give you a better sense of how you'd like to decorate it.

Oh, and don't mix de_p (poor dunmer's furniture) and de_r (rich dunmer's furniture).

Mmm, and forget about quests for a long time, that's my advice. It's a lot more complicated than you might think, and usually aren't necessary for players to be entertained by your location.

Other than that, there are some excellent tutorials on Thanos Tower (do a google search) which should get you started. Feel free to upload a screenshot later on to get more hands-on advice.

Please stop using so many abbreviations. its now that hard to write to instead of 2. and most people here won't understand you, or treat you as garbage if you do. some abbreviations are ok, but not too many. (things like IMO and IIRC)

And use capital letters and end sentences with a dot.

People will respect you more that way.

Welcome to the project, we really have a great community. :)

Kasan they call it a full stop in english I believe. It's not called a dot when used in sentences. Just to correct you.

Yeah well, English isn't my native language, so I didn't know what I could call it. I could have also said, end sentences with a: .

Its hard to make it seem natural to yourself because you made it. You know what wass behind it. Get someone else in there and often they will think its perfectly natural.

Same thing happens with music. It never sounds all that good to a composer.

Well, everyone else in the world calls it a period.
(and please don't take that literally and start some micheal jackson case on it.)

Welcome to the project Jamin, I hope you fit in! However, be careful, just because you've played the game for a long time doesn't mean you can create awesome interiors right off the bat. I've got two friends who've played it for two years as well, a month or so ago, they both thought they could make an interior as good or better than the best one I could find a picture of. (One of Vegor's, I think) After they finished, I took one look and turned around. Their work was abysmal. But everyone's first interior is always going to have those first couple of flaws that will never happen again. After a while, it just sort of becomes natural, just ask someone who's made a ton of interiors.

what i mean by realistic is that it looks too much like a house you'd find in the real world not one that you'd find in morrowind.

I guess it's just that time of the month. Anyway...

What specifically do you want to be able to make well? I asume by 'realistic' you mean of similar quality to the original game. I could help you with some tips on making exteriors, not so much on interiors, though.

The main thing you need is clutter. Things in hte wrong places. Look at your computer desk. Is everything there related to computing? On mind I can see CDs, a GBA game, 2 cameras, a box of tissues (i have a cold) a bunch of printed things about books, a page from a catolgoue, and envelope, my sister's college planner, a glass, a mug, a calculator, some beads for sewing, a biro and a wierd toy thing which you can make into lots of shapes.

And thats the stuff which ISNT directly related to computing. My point is that crap gets everywhere. In the cell Im making I made a writing desk with an open book, some bits of paper, a quill and an ink pot. I then put a pile of dishes at odd angles in one corner (about 4 different ones) with some cultnery as if he put it on top of it from sitting in the chair. There is a goblet next to the plates and another under the desk where it has fallen down.

I made a bookshelf above the bed. I put a candle on it and some books. I then put a bottle of wine and a goblet there.

There is a fork under the pillow.

Random household items at odd places give a lived in feel.

Jale is pretty much right, except about the fork under the pillow. That should never happen. It would be a serious hazard and liability.

Also, when creating interiors, make sure that if you are using more than one static(for the interior of it), instead of just a 1-piece cave or building, you have gridsnap turned on. Angle snap is usually good as well. Once you are finished creating the interior shell, turn of angle and grid snap so that you can have customization abilities when you place your objects.

My brief included the fact that the Altmer was mildly insane. This appealed because as a stereotypical englishman i am really quite eccentric. I put the fork under the pillow just for giggles.
