I don't think we need to worry about it snapping too much. It looks nice, and looks like it could do some major hurtage. Look at other long weapons, many of them look like they should break, especially chitin. Besides, who's going to use a spear for anything but thrust?

The mace is looking pretty nice. :banana:

But if you're going to go ahead and include a halberd, why not an axe? There is after all a Chitin axe, and it seems more a weapon of the Dunmer's tribal makeshift roots than a halberd. Considering polearms made out of bones and bugshells, a spear would seem to be more appropriate.

I say there should be no long/broad sword, as these weapons were invented only after they learned to make strong yet flexable weapons. I think it does go with feel of old velothi to focus on clubs, spears axes and perhaps daggers and shortswords.
