Boethian Lighthouse

Post by Sload »

Right now there is an empty light house in the middle of nowhere, on the eastern coast of the Map 1 Mainland. I've thought of a quest for it.

The first guard the player talks to in Gah Ouadaruhn says that they haven't heard from Isto Xor who runs the lighthouse in a long time, and want the player to check on him. When the player reaches the light house, they find Isto Xor dead and three or four Dwemer centurions about.

When the player reports back they are told that this cannot have happened randomly, and must be a murder. The player should check any nearby ruins. There happens to be the ruin of Zrangtvvardenk a short ways to the south. This tiny ruin includes a tower, where the Dunmer named Uris Fid lives. Fid says that you can fight him and die or you can retrieve the ashes of a dead Telvanni from a newly added Ancestral Tomb.

If you get this for him he pays you 250 gold. If you kill him, you get 150 from the guards.

Good question. I only used centurions because Daedra and Undead are overused.

Well, I like the idea of the player finding a dead body in a lighthouse in the middle of nowhere, so work with that if you want.

Hmm..

Fid controlled the centurions through magically controlling their processors.

You got centurions to guard your tower if you advanced high enough in house Telvanni so it can be done, especially if the person were Telvanni. Just don't explain how--the dwemer are supposed to be mysterious and even b.s. mumbo jumbo can take away from that.

EDIT: Oh yes, I like the idea, too.

You got two Centurions to guard your stronghold, yes, but that's very different from a Dunmer somehow making four Centurions go to a remote lighthouse and kill the dude inside. I don't buy it.

There is a comment made about how unique that is (by the woman in the hermitage). Anyway, why can't it be a bit more of a murder mystery and a bit less of a, "hey look Dwemer machines I have to go kill the person in the Dwemer ruin," quest. There is also the matter of why the lighhouse keeper was murdered, motive needs to be addressed.
