Could we use these?

Dwemer style meshes, meant for vertical movement. (hence the name vertical shaft). Very small files, Includes shaft, shaft extrude, top, endcap, platform, and every combination of exit style for the extrude (1, 2A, 2L, 3, 4). Total of 10 meshes.

They are a modder's resource, so I guess we can use them.

EDIT: I just had an idea. This could make a great elevator shaft.

No we can't. At least in it's current state. We were discussing this matter in Greater Dwemeri Ruins project forums and decided than it screams for a texture change.

Agreed - either that or some very good vertex painting on the meshes. I really hope those screens were made with bright lights on in the CS. :\

Well, this has to be edited in the mesh, actually.

1. Texture resolution over the whole mesh needs to be upped to the level of standard dwemer stuff (propably *4).
2. Vertex shading needs to be done, badly.

If that is done, we may think about using it; the general idea is acually quite nice.

an old dwemer lift what makes strange sounds when you go down or up.... cool :D

I know we might use it as a shaft, but what is it? A big tunnel that rotates?

Those textures faintly remind me of Sotha Sil, but other than that, the concept is good i think.

Personally I don't think we need a mesh set like that. Laying asside the texturing problems, the same effect can be accomplished with the current meshes (although square, or, if you're feeling really creative, maybe octagonal, rather than circular) and winds up looking better than that anyway. If any new shaft meshes are needed, they should be an expansion of the current in_dwrv_shaft mesh set. The most needed one is a 1 story no-doorway peice, however angle peices, intersection peices, and a sideways entrance peice for attaching an angled shaft to a room would be a really interesting addition as well, if not really nessasary.
