Telvanni Folk tune.
It would appear that my topic got lost...
I think I've got the music to the state I want, all that remains is mixing, note velocities, panning, etc. Can people comment so I know where I stand?
Graff.
Edit: Check most recent post for Mp3 .

Very interesting piece; well-composed.
Only one (mild) criticism:
I don't know what, if anything, has been decided on whether the music should sound old or not, but the piece defiently sounds modern. I can hear a lot of dissonant intervals which weren't used in early music.
Besides that, though, it was an enjoyable listen.

I've done some further work on thia, it's still unmixed, but I'm happy enough with the score for it to proceed.
Vernon and I spoke about possibly adding a vocal audio track to this, where do people stand on that?
Graff.
P.S. Vernon, I've included the project file with it for you, mate.

Pretty upbeat, not bad. The constant 'dun, dun-dun-dun, dun-dun-dun, dun-dun-dun, dun, dun, dun-dun-dun, etc. etc. is good, except, not with those keys. It's more obnoxious than anything. It provides a good undertone, but maybe try keys more in harmony with each other.

Similar apart from the percussion actually sounds like percussion, and the different voices actually come out more. If you want, I can export a Midi without percussion give you a better idea...screw it, I'll do it anyway .

Cubase SX 2.3, it would sound 10 times better if I had a midi keyboard, instead of having to score it by hand. It's annoying that the voices I set in cubase don't transfer over to MIDI, that's why it just sounds like a piano, with five parts
Graff.
The whole four-handed pianist thing is pretty funny though.

As I explained in another thread, I've got the voice set in Cubase (Lute, Fiddle, Percussion, Bass and two Panpipes) but they won't export with my MIDI files.
I want to see what people think of the actual tune before I go through the hassle of turning the song into an audio file like an Mp3.

The music in morrowind is very modern orchestral, so I dont think we should hesitate to follow suit. Not to mention, that folk music often bears strange disonances because it is not always based on the classical European (german) concepts of music. If anyone, the Telvani would have some wierd music (they wear squids as hats, for goodness sake!)Only one (mild) criticism:

NEW MEMBERS: I'm not with TR anymore, so please stop PMing me. Just post your sample work in the showcase.

oooh... pretty.
I'm reminded of some under-developed society when I hear it, like the Ashlanders or maybe even the Argonian tribes of Black Marsh. Would fit Telvanni too, I suppose.
