Join The Royal Guards
I have an idea. This entirely new faction is only open after the player has finished the Tribunal MaiN Quest. You know how Hesleth talks about Almalexia's death. And he gives u full set. If my idea works, instead of him givin u armor, at the end of his statement about Almalexia, he discusses "pressing matters" after the goddesses death. When you select the topic, you get a journal entry. The king says to see Tineus Delitian for details. Delitian says that there is a threat to the monarchy (which was why DB tried to kill u). Select "threat" to get another topic "protect the king". Upon selecting topic, you get an option (like in all factions on morrowind) Join, read rules, or decline. (If you decline, deltians disp drops 10 pts, but you can change ur mind.) After that, you get quests from delitian, and later Hesleth. Deltians quests are simple spying, writs, etc.) Like in the Imperial legion, you earn your armor. After you finish deltian's quests, you shoudl have advanced to a high enough rank to work for hesleth. if not, fellow guards Aleri Alen and Karrod plus others, have smaller quests for you. Only Delitian and hesleth can advance. Anyways, at that point, a power struggle emerges. Like in the Raven Rock Quests. You can join hesleth (his quests are very difficult, and include murdering high-level officials. We assume hes corrupt) Deltitans quests are difficult, but do not involve much combat. Deltian is like Falco Gaelnus, and hesleth is like Carnius Magius. If you follow Deltitan, he eventually steps down as head of the royal guard, but if you side with hesleth, you'll have to duel him for the position, and trust me, he's a very hard opponent. So there's my idea. Also at the end, you get full enchanted royal guard armor from hesleth, regardless of the side you took.

Wouldn't this be considered altering the original content?
I do agree that joining the Royal Guard would be a good addition to the game, though.

I'm pretty sure the King of Morrowind would be willing to let the Nerevarine join his Royal Guards. I'm also pretty sure that if your character is level 50+, the King would give you just a few missions to prove your loyalty before letting you join the Royal Guard.Dexter wrote:You can't just join King Helseth's personal guard from off the street. It would require years and years of unquestioned service to the King, most likely in the Legion, before you were promoted into his Royal Guard.

True Xui'al. However, there could be many other options before joining Royal Guards.
1. To have completed Morrowind's main quest.
2. To have Completed Tribunal's Main Quest. (Hesleth will not accept you if you let the three conspirators escape, because that means you are not worthy enough to take the role)
3. To have joined the Imperial Legion and have reached rank 6.
4. To have a Reputation of 50+.
5. To have a char with level 50+.
6. To have a str of 100 (fortified doesnt count)
7. To have any of the following skills: Long Blade, Medium Armor, heavy Armor, Block, Destruction, at at leeast 70.
Only one has to be satisfied for Hesleth to mention the faction.

No not vivec. He tells you to [get lost] if you havent talked to the Arechanon in the Main Quest.Jale wrote:Just most people don't know it.Xui'al wrote:You are still the Nerevarine whether you play the main quest or not.
The only people who will call you Nerevarine are Almalexia and possibly (not sure) Vivec.

Then i should just increase the values to 80. A sidenote: Even if the player doesnt decide to join a faction, or complete the quest, there must be one way that he/she eventually meets the specs (which is skills improving).[/b]

That would be an excellent idea.Jale wrote:Well then a level 2 character could join. I would just remove this one altogether, or make it so they need all 4 at 80.Swiftoak Woodwarrior wrote:Then i should just increase the values to 80.

It could start with training quests as an apprentice. You could be assigned minor quests from low-ranking Royal Guardsmen and be required to perform them before you become a Royal Guard. If there is a good scripter helping with the quests than you could make a quest where you escort Helseth across Vvardenfall and protect him from assassins.

I do have one nice idea for a quest which would fit with any faction, anywhere.
Quite a nice little quest too. A friend wants help with promotion, and has thought up a plan to save his superior's life from 'an attack'. Your job is to co-ordinate the plot, finding some henchmen to wait in ambush and getting the superior officer to come to the ambush point.

Yeah, like you can join from deltitan, but the apprentice quests you can get from lower royal guards like karrod or Aleri Alen. Then after a certain point, work for deltitan, then after a certain point, you can continue working for deltitan, or hesleth, whose quests are much more difficult. Sorta like the Bal Mogalmer Quests from Stacey at the Thieves guild.
And quests are not limited to Vvardenfell and Mournhold, and can extend as far as cyrodil, and other parts of Morrowind. And Dexter, there will be more than ten quests in this guild, alot more.

*Calming down from temper tantrum earlier today*. Unfortuneately, after Thane's "ahem, departure", I will require a new assistant to work on this Bolt-On with me. A whole faction needs a team. Any help I would appreciate. And again, my aplolgies for going "beserk" today.

Once again, I would like to ask anyone who COULD make quests for this to go claim quests for Map 1 now. We really need them done.
This entire idea will never be finished. Stop wasting your time.
Finally, a faction does not need a team. Starcrunch, for example, is doing the Fighter's Guild (right?) AND plans to do the conflict part for 3 seperate factions. All but alone.

I'm not wasting my time. Thane and some others really liked it as a bolt-on idea. Of course, my focus is on TR itself, but Bolt-ons are also important Sload. I know, they dont need a team, but im still learning about using dialouge in TESCS, and i would probably need some1 to help me with it.

Bolt-ons are not important. You see, the whole "Bolt-on" concept is set-up so that ideas that don't work can be rejected without hurt feelings. Majra explained it. This isn't a bad idea, persay, it's just against our policy. But it was here from the start, so it wasn't rejected anyways.
If you can actually do this, could you work on other quest ideas for Map 1 instead? Please?

Well gee Sload, now the whole purpose is defeated, isn't it? Yes, what you said is true, but you aren't supposed to go around and slap people in the face with that fact. It is better to let them go the way of FEP: slowly die out, and let the members come back to TR and contribute on their own. We aren't the military here, we don't want to force him to make quests.
Yeah, I'm the quest moderator. And I know how much we need quests right now. But I don't want to tell people "what you are doing is futile, stop doing what you want to do and come do what I want you to do."
Swiftoak: what Sload has said is unfortunatly true. It doesn't have to be, but it always ends up being true. The most developed bolt-on out there is FEP, and a quick visit to their forums will show you just what state it is in.
I would like it if you would write quests for the Telvanni towns and wilderness areas of Map 1. However, I don't want you to feel forced into it. If you still want to work on this by yourself, and hope that someone will come along and help you with it, nobody will criticize you for it.

I'll be glad to help you, If someone could help me with TESCS dialouge and scripts. And Sload, you are not a squishy green ---. You are in my opinion a valuable member in TR.Dexter wrote:Well gee Sload, now the whole purpose is defeated, isn't it? That's prety funny how you explained the bolt-on sload. I always wondered why every bolt-on is a stupid idea with the people spending all of their time talking about something literally impossible.
