Oooh pretty!

Love the first pic, but the in the second, I'm not certain what I'm looking at behind/underneath the flower... That would be a large stem?

Cool work, either way.

I think the big problem with this flower is how much it'll be used. Exteriors are almost done and we already have enough flowers; there's just no need of another (especially one that wasn't mentioned in lore).

I don't know about that set, but I don't think they need more flowers, nor is it going-to-kill-you enough in my opinion. It also wouldn't have been "for centuries use by magic user for its power to restore magicka some alchemist use this flower to make valuable magic potion" because it would be impossible to get to.

That's a beautiful model, Dres. I think you could maybe set a pretty cool quest in the Argon Jungle with these. They could be a very rare plant that only grows under exact conditions..

I also thought of Argon Jungle when saw the flower. I think nothing bad will happen if it will be added here and there.

Is there any chance at all that two models could be made - one open like this one and one with those narrower outer petals closed over the top (sort of like a clenched claw), then a simple script selecting between the two for day and night could be chosen? I mean, if it's going to be a rare argonian swamp plant which is the subject of a quest, may as well have it open at night and close during the day or something weird like that.

Or even have it open at an even rarer frequency, once per month(?), giving it extra special potency for alchemy. That would be a more interesting quest ... because you would have to go find an argonian wisewoman and get her to tell you not only where, but when also.

Just a random idea. I dunno what I'm saying. I'm just rambling and it's after breakfast so all the blood normally in my brain is ... well, I've said too much anyway.

Got any bananas?

*hands banana*

I really like this idea, Haj. I also like the flower (and no, sload, exteriors are far from being done, especially in maps 5 and 6!) and think we could use it in the south.

Any chance you could come up with some more flowers and things like this, Dres? Argon Jungle needs some more stuff that looks... tropical. And the dres region needs some more smallish flora that hasn't been used all over Tamriel already.

I agree - I imagine quite a few quests involving "daring to go into the argon jungle for something rare and valuable".
Based on the extremely large stigmas (I got a D in biology, sorry if im wrong) on the flower, I'd imagine those as being the magical ingredient.
The mesh itself looks a little bit archaic, but hell, I couldn't even make a cube, so i can't complain. Most jungle plants have the same sort of leaf style; maybe someone could add the fern_F03-style leaves onto this flower.

Make sure your textures are the right size. The canvas size/resolution needs to be a multiple of 16. eg: 128x128, 256x128, 256x256, 512x512.

Your ScreamingFear shield had a texture which was 404x288. Try making it 256x256.

Man, these are really beautiful - maybe some could be selectively used in interiors for some select nobles; rare flowers brought in from the Black Marsh maybe? :)

i -LOVE- that belly flower thing! it looks absolutely perfect for the argon jungle muckponds, it might even look good as the flowering secion of a much larger plant, IE random-massive-bush-clump or bittershrub.

Dres, first of all, again you have done beautiful work. Second of all I'll again raise the possibility of you making a "closed" version ... if stalker can make the script for the first one, then perhaps it can be overlain on this one too (except different timing).

But most of all, I just wanted to say ... oh man that's way cool.

Indeed, beautiful work.

I will throw out there, however, that (at least right now) the Argon Jungle looks very dark, and all those would stand out an enormous amount, unless used more commonly than you've suggested for the first two, which would kinda make the dark and scary jungle less scary.

Uhm... not to sound too critical, or anything...

I checked out the "belly flower" in 3D Studio Max (nif import), and at least in there it looks like the mesh for the flower has holes in it. For the texture... well... maybe a 512x512 transparant dds texture would work better? Apart from breaking the size specs of Morrowind (power of 2) it seems to have too much empty space around it, which is important for optimization as the game would load unnecessary data. At least that's how I figure it. Personally I think it would be cool if the individual components of the flower had separate textures as one could then make, say, ten variations on it fairly easy which would be great for variation. If it's intended to be very large in-game, perhaps it could use some more polys to make it look less rough. Having said that, I really like the design and texture of it. :)

As for CreepTongue I can't import .ms3d files, but the screenies are very nice.

I like the smalltorch flowers, but as far as I can tell, they aren't textured?

Wizard leaf (both open and closed), again, looks like it has holes in the mesh (the smalltorch ones *doesn't* look like that though), and the texture size isn't Morrowind standard. Also the pivot seems off by a long distance, and the object isn't centered.

Wow, these plants look awesome!

And as for the flowers in the jungle standing out ... nothing that cannot be avoided by takeing care about placing them/using them in groups and coupled with light sources to make specfial areas of jungle stand out. Argon Jungle shouldn't be Phantom Forest anyway.

Besides, flowers WANT to be noticed optically, by insects to fertilise them. That's the whole purpose of flowers to begin with.

Only leaves will need to be retextured to fit AJ theme. The flowers could use some glowmaps here and there though.
