Raoul Duke's Octagon?
Or, on a serious note, how about "Helishuttle"? that somehow sounds like some weird slang for "cockatoo" from tottenham, but I still like it. maybe "scarab" - kinda cliche, but whatever.

Ahh, I see, that type of shuttle. Well I suppose it would go back and forth between places, still sounds kinda like a bus or one of those small ships off Star Trek though
2 of those are named after attack ability/use and the other named after its function due to steam technology.
Rotor centurian
Mining centurian
Centurian Excavator
Are my favourites so far.
How come everyone is calling it a dwemer scarab? I had a look int the CS and the dwemer plans for the scarab look nought like this.
What about the Archer, Shock and Steam Centurians?ThorFluff wrote:none of the centurions names implicate thier use, only thier shape

A sapper is an early battlefield engineer. Sapping is usually associated with undermining fortifications (ie digging under them) and hten destroying the tunnel, bringing down the wall.
Ive got another Idea: Petard Centurion
Now it might seem rude but a Petard was the earliest form of bomb. It would be put on a gate to bring it down. One of the worst jobs you could have was to be the guy who had to put it there

I thought centurions were named as such because they tried to kill you (because... you know... centurions were the leaders of a hundred pack of footsoldiers back in good ol' Rome). Ah well. No matter. Anyway, here's mine. Howabout'
Bombardier-Obviously, it drops bombs on stuff. Fun.
Excavator-It excavates stuff with bombs. Whee.
Tonare-Or "to thunder" in Latin. Huzzah.
Detonare-Or "thunder down"... also in Latin. Yipee.
The last two are the base words for "detonator". I learnded that from my dictionary.

Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!

Mineral Centurion
Nitro Centurion- dwemer were great mathmatician's and if i'm not mistaken alchemist's it wouldnt have been hard for them to make a nitroglicerin-like bomb but then the centurions would have to be mass produced as it would most likely be distroyed once the bomb was placed- nitro is very voltile
Dine-o-mite Centurion
just kidding
Powder Keg Centurion- if Hammerfell had sulfur(think i read it somewere on TES fourm) and ther are some other stuff that can be ground and blown by fuse ther you go

I would have to say that modern tech doesn't fit.
Therefore I would suggest a name describing its motion.
Also due to its rather mundane application I don't think it warrants the title Centurion.
Maybe something more like:
Spinner Drone
Grand Opener
or something as simple and utilitarian as
Ore clear

Dwemer Boreblower
Boreblower or Sapper (it's an old army term for "engineer", who are the guys blowing up bridges etc)
