Actually, Matt, it's not my logo, all I did was remove the background as best I could and added some emboss and drop-shadow.

Looks cool tho - albeit in a sci-fi kinda way :P

Kafeened: you're version of mine is good, although i think there is too much black at the top and the bottom, reduce it a little, move the logo more to the right so it is more in the corner. I love the font and the boarders thought very nice :)

Thanks Mass, I appreciate your comments. :)
The black is like it is because I have a Mac-like dock and the icons of which are 130x130 pixels. So, for anyone with a Mac fetish, like me, wants a nice wallpaper AND a Mac dock at the same time, it really needs that much black. Also, because my taskbar is at the top of the screen, having less black area would obscure the title of the wallpaper - in this case, Narsis. I can, however, move the logo, as you suggested. I will wait and see how we go in the logo comp first, however ;)

As PoHa! said, the wallpapers should be taken without texture replacers or other unofficial plugins/artwork. Texture replacers affect Vvardenfell, which TR doesn't do in any sense. Sorry, but people from the community will say 'Oh look they're using qarl's texture replacer.' That will be the first thing they think. Not 'Ooh look at the pretty landscaping,' but: 'Wow they've been going at TR for years and they're too lazy to make their own textures.' Or whatever inanity they like to dribble. Plus, qarl was dissing TR in a big way on the ESF the other day, so I'm even more against it. The wallpapers that would really be front page-worthy right now would be of map 1, because that is what we are trying to push.

There's an excellent place above Firewatch where you can get a bird's eye view, just set acrobatics high and go up through the hill bastion and then jump off it. However, Firewatch is being changed so I don't know what it looks like on the current map.

Very good. But please place the name of the place pictured above the picture, like in the other wallpapers.

why don't you instal the maps an do it yourself?

and also it would be nice if you'd fix the black on the other one for those of us who don't have Mac. :)

I did, but am having major issues here, for some reason. Graphical issues. Funny, but I can play Far Cry, HL2, Doom 3 and Battlefield 2 no problemo... but Morrowind keeps getting grey screen and stuff... So, yeah.

Dude, that's a damn nice wallpaper. If you get the grey screen during loads, chances are it is down to AA and AF settings in your graphics settings.

Thanks Vernon :) Unfortunately, I don't think it's that (if you mean anti-aliasing & anisotropic filtering?)... My vid card is more than capable of rendering Morrowind without OoT installed - i.e. standard install - and I run it at full everything normally. But even with the music off, settings low, it crashes because of missing objects/textures etc.. or I get the flickering grey screen with missing hair on the NPCs.

Now, I'm not too concerned because I spend most of my Morrowind time in the CS, which renders fine. But it means that I don't have the luxury of windforming around Tamriel with a potion of Nikon camera in hand. :P

So again, should anyone have any prized screenshots of our beautiful Tamriel, or would like to go and take some, please do. I believe that TR could benefit from the potential exposure we'd get from having a "Tamriel Rebuilt Wallpaper Collection" available. And I love doin' 'em!

Ok, with the new logo I have about 30 or so almost ready to go. Here is one, just so you can comment on it, about any changes that I should make to all of the others before I release them. I am also seriously thinking of adding a border. Please comment, so I can make these wallpapers better!

I know we aren't using this architecture anymore, but Massey sent me the original and didn't tell me until a few minutes ago...

Awesome :) I look forward to seeing more. It would look even better if you added a border between the picture and the black letter box, like Kaffeend's wallpaper above.

We should choose which layout will be officially used for all backgrounds. Personally, I would like to mix Erasers new logo with Kaffends text and centreing the logo. I can show you what I mean later.

Swifoak, i believe that the logo is no longer up for changing also it was decided that kafeend's logo was too pale. This is now the official logo and as far as i am aware will not be changed again.

The only thing i dislike about this wallpaper is the tamriel rebuilt at the bottom, it doesn't really need to be there because it is on the logo anyway. But that's just my opinion. Otherwise, it looks good.

That's with kaffey's text. Not nearly enough contrast between the text and the rest of th image

Here is a new test. I made some changes to the text, and added a very simple border. I'll maybe do something with the border tomorrow, to make it more then a basic line. It is .jpg under the logic that it is a test, and not intended to be used. If someone really, really wants to use it, either wait a few days, or ask me for a .png version. But its not really complete enough to use. Anyway, comments please?

And no, I don't think we should have a standard wallpaper design. It will take away from the creativity of it.

Yeah, I like that much better. The boarder on the black bit looks good too.

Also, i think a set that is all the same would be good cause then i can use them as my screensaver so people randomly walking into my room when the computer is on know what it is :P also i'll know what it is too. Personally i'd like the screensaver more than the wallpaper, my wallpaper changes a lot.

Don't worry Mass, there are going to be alot of wallpapers in the same style for screensaver soon. I just have to finish the Illuminated Order mod first. :)
I must say, I do like the simple border. Maybe I won't change it, but then again, maybe I will.

Keep the boarder. It has some nice parallels with the text and logo, and it does a good job of framing the image.

Thats what I am thinking. Tomorrow, I will start on the final stages of the images Massey sent me, so is the present format OK? If all goes well, I should have about 30 done by the end of the weekend, provided all goes well.

Thanks so much Massey!
2 down, 33 to go... I am going to talk to Zephyr about a mass upload, as I was thinking we could create a gallery or something on the main page, where anyone can download them?

Please no wallpapers with Dres buildings because those do not reflect the final product.
BTW I would really like to see some FW (the one in current Map 1) wallpapers :)

Ok, no Dres ones. I am just doing what Massey sent me, so if there is anything plainly Dres, I will ignore it. But there arew still about 30 to go. Firewatch sounds good. Now I have another excuse to go and play Illuminated Order:)

And some Alamalexia ones if you havent done so. Almalexia is one of the most detailed exteriors i have sen at TR, and Guar man might have posted 2x by mistake.

I can try some Almalexia ones. I would perfer to get it to load in the game much more then just in the CS, so I will try cleaning the WIP file and working from there. Since there will be a Xui'al mass wallpaper upload soon, send images to me, either on MSN or PM if you would like them to be included.

Well actially, delay the Almalexia screenie, the whole thing is more like The cuty of Errors and Exclamation marks rather than the city of light and magic.

That means that you should wait till OoT misrefs are fixed...Or you could manually fix them like I did.

It would probably be faster to wait...

In the meantime, I have 43 wallpapers ready to go. Unfortunatly, they are 25 megs after I .rar them, so I am currently negotiating upload rights. No FW yet, they will be added after. Hopefully you will get to see them today or tomorrow. :)

It has been about a dozen posts without anyone posting a wallpaper, so here is something to whet your appetite:

If you broadened the bottom black band, so that it's more like the BethSoft wallpapers (example), and maybe shrunked the logo a tiny bit more, then the Tamriel Rebuilt text would be on a black background, and I think it would look better.
