Wait, there was a kraken in fable, and it looked awesome. I'm currently working on a nordic sea creature coincedently, and It would work as a kraken methinks.Assassinace wrote: Kraken: giant squid basically.
"In tales told by Norse sailors, the Kraken was a great monster that would attack ships. It had many arms, like the roots of an upturned tree, and would seize ships and drag them underneath the water. While originally believed to be an agent of Aegir - the god of the sea - it is believed that the Kraken described in folklore was in fact the giant squid, which would easily give the terrifying impression the stories lent to the Kraken's flailing arms."

I like the Idea. Maybe we could find a better name for it, but the general idea would stay the same.cwandell wrote:arn't imps kinda native to Oblivion?
other posibly creatures.
frost ooze? a ooze like creature that appears to be made of frost. It waits in gorges and the such, for unsuspecting victims, from which it devours. possibly an alchemy item as well?

Yes, I agree with Saibot that there shouldn't be lots of Uyrfryktes running around the place. However maybe one other of the same species would be good.(In the original legend, Beowulf also had to kill Grendel's mother, who was a much tougher proposition)

Oooooh, goody goody goody. Yeah, the benefit of human provences is that they always seem to mimic the real life world (e.g. pumpkins and horses in oblivion, or wolves in bloodmoon, but nothing outside rats in morrowind). You could probably rack up a great bestiary by just borrowing like that.Odowacar wrote: And I think that there should be pike fishes in Skyrim's rivers. Also foxes and giant eagles would be great.
Other Ideas:
-squirrels
-mountain goats
-mountain lions (although its probably too similar to the sabertooth tigers)
-elk
-deer
-etc.

Um, the deer in that fourth pic look nothing like real whitetail deer. The antlers on whitetail curve forward, not strait up like that, and the ears and snouts are definatly not that big. Either rename these as "mule deer" or touch up the meshes.Orix wrote:In case you're interested, Sabregirl created an "Ecology of Morrowind" mod that introduced new creatures to Solstheim.
Here's the webie if you want to take a look:Snowshoe Hare

Mule Deer.
I bowhunt whitetails, and I see bucks all the time, so I know how the antlers go.

The sabretooths wouldn't be in the same area as the mountain lions, though, right? If there's more than one type of bear, there could be more than one type of big cat. As a fantasy variant, how about a mountain sabretooth?Savant wrote:-mountain lions (although its probably too similar to the sabertooth tigers)
