I loaded it up in the CS but I had no idea what I was doing. All I had was a white sphere  It seemed too big though to carry around. Is it possible to halve the size (not entirely lore friendly, but Sotha Sil did pull one portion out of his robes and held it in his palm for kids to poke at)?

Hmm. Did you put the texture into Data Files\Textures? If you did, then the problem is on my end. Also, I thought you said it should be about a foot in diameter, which I estimated at 32 units (MW scale). So how big do you want it? The size of a Dunmer's head? Smaller?

Grom? Er... Screenshot? Not because I need it, but I have no clue on what you are talking about. :D

This is not "needed" as such, but it is noticably absent from TR: Grom. A black/very dark grey sphere (ingredient, similar to a pearl if possible) described as being anywhere up to a foot in diameter. Effects would probably be: Water Breathing, Shield, Swift Swim, and Drain Agility. Value 250 gold. Weight about 10.

Ah, that tells me all I need to know, you can forget about the screenshot then. Thanks.

The screen wouldn't really give one much of an idea of what it is like. It is just a sphere but it uses a big old reflective shader. Check it out if you like, if only to see one of the effects you can get with the vanilla Blinn shader in 3ds max.

Vern effect rocks. Really. But...it's not fitting. I mean dreugh eat their legs and hands and than vomit it. Will it be so shiny and glossy ? I think no...

I guess there isn't much reason why it wouldn't be. They live in water and look slimy, perhaps they are even after spitting it out? The effect is neat.

It quite likely would be shiny, just think of pearls. They come from grains of sand. Sure, they form over a long time but the pearly substance is still produced in the clam. It really depends on a time scale. If its hours, it wont be shiny. If its there for a week we can say thats long enough.

That's an official description. Vern's is indeed fibrous but I think it will be non-glossy ball made from ropes (I mean looking like it is made from ropes). But that's just a personal view on things.

It's easily fixed. I'll just remove the shine - I just thought pearl: shiny. ;)

OK, the general consensus we've came to with lore people is: leave the shine, make it more fibrous.

Just wondering if this is done yet or not. I only need it to submit one of my interiors, so it's no rush, it's just been a while since it was last talked about. (sorry for pestering)
