Recently I stumbled upon word 'hircine' in dictionary. It offered the translations "goat-like" and "stinking of goat"
Well, actually hircine looks more like a moose to me, but think how funny it now sounds when he says "hircine will hunt again" *lol*

Well, the goat (as a symbol) does carry some rather arcane and sinister connotations, so it's not too terribly out of place there.

It could certainly be worse. He could have been named Cricetine or Lumbricine.

Mythologically speaking, goats have traditionally been signs of the devil (pentagram/goat-head thing they've got going on). Also, it was believed during the Middle Ages that goats would whisper lewd phrases into the ears of saints.

The goat used to stand for fertility (in greek, roman and "barbarian" religions) but when the christian religion came, those others were banned, and their "gods" were portraited as demons, the goat became satan. Nearly every "demon" (as they don't excist) can be traced back to a god of some ancient religion.

Indoril, if you were concearned about getting backhanded, you probably shouldn't have posted that message in the first place. Sandrew made a comment that was more or less true. If you want proof, we can discuss it in PMs. Every time someone says something that offends your morals, you don't need to come in and pretend like you know what you are talking about. As strange as it sounds, your two cents on these matters is rarely, if ever, appreciated.

Skeletor has never won a fight in his life, and therefore it is easy to relate that to Hircine who is probably the most pathetically annoying of all Daedra. Just you wait, Sheogorath's pimp hand is strong and will smite down the goat-man in a clean sweep. Anyone who is willing to dispute this need only look at how that man is dressed. I'm almost certain that Sheogorath is also the most stylish of all Daedra.
