I need help to finish the swamp snake

First: I need someone who can help me animate this snake.[I don't know how to do this.I must make the stand,attck and the walking animations into one.How do I do that?]

Second: I have some problems with my video card and I can't run milkshape.If anyone has milkshape 1.7.6 must notice me.This snake is a maya file.So someone must import it in milkshape then export it from milkshape as NIF.

Third: The third problem isn't something urgent.I just need a cool texture for a snake.

I think that's all.I think the mesh is finished.If someone finds a little bug must notice me.

i like it, but i think it should be a bit longer, or a bit slimmer.

If you really want this to be good, like in a plug-in or something, work on it alot more. The body needs to be leangthened and the head... more like a snake. Try putting the eyes on the side of the head like everyone has suggested, and maybe add scales... snakes have scales... those will mkae it look more realistic.

I think you have seen the wrong picture.The second version is the one with small eyes.With some help from Dexter I finished the eyes.Even the body I think is finished.Maybe it will be a bit longer but this isn't the main problem.I need to fix that head.Look at the version with big eyes:

the head still looks a little bit odd, but the long body looks good. I also like the texture much more in the new one.

Remove the mouth. You don't see a snake's teeth when the mouth's closed anyway. If you still want it, you probably have to model some kind of jaw instead of placing those teeth at the front, cause honestly they don't look very good. Also, both the head and the body could be slimmed down further.

Btw nice texture.

I want this to be a special kind of snake.Those teeth are placed out of the mouth.I don't want to make a snake like in reality.I want it a bit more fantastic.

If you want to make it look more fantasy like, you could try to model a beak, cuz the teeth don't make it look better.

It is a pretty cool looking snake. One thing that I was thiking about was perhaps trying to put a "TES Twist" on the snake... you know, making it unique instead of fairly generic.

Now I dont mean going all out and giving it wings or something stupid like that, just something to add a little variaty on to it, so people think that its a snake from Tamriel, instead of earth.

BTW I like those teeth, quite distinctive, would be better if they were poking out of a mouth, though.

Aparently I haven't, it looks alot better! looks finished to me, now that I've taken a look at the new version. If you want any more work though, try makeing the eyes a bit different, a little more realistic. Maybe b;ending them with the head a little...

Hmm......Well you gave me a good idea!maybe I can texture the eyes.And I need to know if the mouth is ok.I see most of the people said that this mesh is a piece of junk.Well it is my first model afterall and I need your advices...

It's good, but it still looks a bit goofy. I suggest referencing this pic for the look of the eyes and such.

But a water moccasin/cottonmouth would probably be what you should go for in terms of 'swamp snake'.

yea the pupils are way too round. snake pupils are slits like in the picture.

edit- try using a texture closer to this

Its getting better, but you should still consider making some sort of jaw for it. You can't have the teeth just protruding out of the face. You'll need a mouth in any case, so that you can give it an attack animation. ;)

Well see this is the big problem!I can't make a real mouth.I can only make a texture for the face that will make the snake look like it has mouth.

Sure you can - just slice a vaguely triangular hole in its head. What program are you using?

I am using maya 7.But I can't cut any part of it.It is a curbe primitive.Not polygon.I can only add a black texture in that place.It will however be small and people won't see it.+ I think I will use the old teeth.I need your suggestion.

Convert it to 'polygon' then. I know you can do this in Maya - I've used it at University.

you could subdivide it so that it has more vertexes and then move a row of points inward and it should give it a triangle cut out.

I tryed all I can!But sorry...I can't make that damm mouth.I think it is ok like that.And for me it looks better than with a hole.So here is the problem!I must now export it as nif.I need help.Please read the first post from this topic.
