I plan to make an entire cycle of "True Introspection" books. One for each Great House. House Dres and House Telvanni are finished.
I was worried about it being to short... Oh! And Jacurutu allowed me to make an entire series of True Introspection books. One for each house. I'll post them all hear. And also, I needed to know a bit more about lore. Here is the run down for each book:
For Hlaalu: The writer will be a hlaalu business man, a great one, and will be writing about what hlaalu are: How they are the Traders and Voice of the dunmer nation. They will praise Hlaalu, but not critisize the other houses as much as the Telvanni did (the writer knows this might be bad for the trade).
For Redoran: Basically all about being noble, the writter is somewhat of a witch hunter, going around and destroying evil. I wanted to make him a boyant armiger, which I think I will, but I wasn't sure if boyant armigers could be such loyal and powerful noblemen of redoran while still performing their duties for the temple (hunting evil and such). But In the end, I do think I will. It will critisize few houses (telvanni, they will. Indoril, I do believe they are somewhat allies. Dres, PLEASE give me the run down. And hlaalu they will critisize a bit.)
For Indoril: The writer is an Indoril noblewoman and a priestess of the Temple. She does not critisize any one, and like the redoran book, do not praise any one but the Temple. Although she will refer to house Indoril as the spiritual power of Morrowind.
The only house that will actualy not critisize the Empire is Hlaalu.
And I repeat: Please, I need more lore.

Houses Indoril, Hlaalu, and Redoran are still needed!!! If anyone wants to take a stab at this, feel free!

I think that slavery is more of a cultural and situational thing than something specifically religious.
Slavery seems to be more based in the whole exodus of the Chimer. All of the elven races are racist to varying degrees, and the Dunmer are by far the worst. When Veloth led the isolationist Chimer from Summurset to found a new land, he led them with the intention of saving the old ways - ways which promoted the superiority of elves over all, especially the beastfolk. Veloth may have supported slavery, and Veloth was a prophet, but that is the limit to which slavery could be religiously supported.
Now, in Morrowind, it is somewhat difficult to acquire slaves, especially in places under the protection of the Empire. Argonia, however, could not possibly be sufficiently protected . . . too much jungle. That is one of the greatest sources of slaves for the Dunmer. I'd guess (but could not say for sure) that the Khajiit slaves in Morrowind are mostly not first generation, instead being the remnants of breeding for generations. It wouldn't surprise if guards who took Khajiit prisoners sold them into slavery instead of throwing them in prison, considering the general anti-beastfolk feelings amongst the elves. The traditionalism of keeping primarily "lesser" beings as slaves is maintained.

Only the prospect of death makes life worth living.
