Oops, I keep forgetting so many people here aren't from the U.S... Anyway, when the pilgrims (who were the first settlers in America) landed here in their ship (it was called "the Mayflower"), They made peace with the local American Indians and had a great feast to thank God for the great gifts of a good harvest that year and the newly forged friendship between the two peoples. We call it Thanksgiving. It isn't held on the same date every year, but it's always on the last Thursday in November, which happens to be today. Anyway, there is alot more behind the tradition, but people generally imitate the Pilgrims and Indians on Thanksgiving by having a big dinner consisting of turkey, mashed potatoes, candied yams, pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce, and stuffing (It's this kind of bread stuff with raisins and spices that we cook inside of the Turkey...) Feel free to add anything in between, I prefer a bottle of Mountain Dew alongside my Thanksgiving dinner. And then, everyone ussually watches Football and sleeps for the remainder of the day. So there you go, that's Thanksgiving.horodnicdragos wrote:Yeah as you say...Happy Thanksgiving.Ehm....Does it have a regular date?

Well, I knew why people celebrate thanksgiving. But thank you for a history lesson, Morgoth, it was very educating.Morgoth wrote:Oops, I keep forgetting so many people here aren't from the U.S...
