Big Imperial Presence in Argonia ?

Post by EdAptra »

i quote:
The vast swamplands were once a part of the Second Empire which seized a large portion of the province in 1E 2837 to create the province of Black Marsh....... Black Marsh never regained its provincial status after the fall of the Second Empire though some parts of it are still considered Imperial territory.

Will this mean that in western argonia, will there be ia lot of imperials there, would as this could lead to conflict between the two races?

The Imperial presence in Argonia is very small. In fact, the only completely Westernized city in Argonia is Gideon and there isn't any official capital.

That quote is, in Tamrielic standards, very outdated, by well over a thousand years. While there are undoubtedly parts of the Black Marsh that remain uncivilized, there is likely much more civilization than that quote would infer.

As for the battlefield, the author of the Pocket Guide claims the province was named after an old battlefield, but the elf that annotates the Guide clearly does not agree.

It would be nice to see areas with more Imperial precence then others, depending on factors such as remoteness, affiliation. Coastal places should have more.

I think the battlefield could be a battle from "The Arnesian War when Morrowind destroys the armies of Black Marsh."

It's possible, but, like I said before, it seems very, very unlikely such a battle ever occurred.

Possibly look west?

Though the Imperials may have not regained a hold in the area, I would imagine that the area around Gideon and Stormhold would still have a pretty strong presense. If the fact that the imperials have outposts almost everywhere in current day tamriel, then the fact that it is directly by Leyawiin and the base of the imperial river thing should say something. Id imagine the far easter parts of it are still pretty wild though.
