Perhaps you should ask on a blender forum.... in fact, I insist.

There are tons of blender discussion boards and forums on the net. You couldn't have even touched half of them in the time between your posts. Search a little harder, you'll find what you need if you look hard enough.

If you want the info bad enough, you'll search manually physically, mentally, and any other manner of ways to find it. Knowlege isn't going to be handed to you an a silver platter. Sometimes you have to work for it.

The 1.2 nif scripts work fine for me in blender 2.40. I don't think I did anything special. I have Python 2.4.2 installed. It didn't work at first, so I completely wiped the old blender folder and my python installation, restarted, re-installed... and it worked just fine.

You might see if installing Python 2.4 instead of 2.4.2 works.

That's the problem. I don't know what I did that made it work. It really ended up being a uninstall-reinstall bit of fiddling with it and then it worked.

I was just pointing out that the new (1.2) nif scripts do work with blender 2.40. Maybe it's just a lucky accident to get them to work. But make sure you have the most recent nif scripts.

I haven't used blender3d in atleast a year, and i couldn't tell you anything about using Python, or about how go about finding/coding a .nif export plugin, so please don't assume that i'm withholding information just to get a rise.

I suggested that you look on other blender forums because there is a 99% chance that somebody has already had the problem you describe. Do some in-depth research before you look for people to hand you the answer. Its about being 'resourceful', and its the same reason we have FAQ topics at the top of our forums. FAQ stands for 'Frequently Asked Questions' ...resourceful people look to these threads for advice, and I assure you that out there on the 'net' you'll find one such thread which answers your script questions.

I see that your question has been answered by one of our generous fellow modders, but next time please try to be more resourceful and keep your temper under control.

Also try asking your technical questions on this sight, as they're quite nice about such things.
