Horodnic, you're improving greatly. I predict TR modder soon.

For OB, the texture needs to be much sharper, I think a bare minimum of 256x256 and 1024x1024 being what we should use for OB*

Other than that, I suggest applying a greyscale version of the textures as specular maps, instead of using a solid specular value that it looks like.

*depending on what the texture resolution in the release turn out to be.

Thanx.Well the texture can be modified in photoshop I think.I just use some patterns I found on the internet. If you want I will post it untextured.

(Edit:I think this was the longest showcase I've seen in the forums.Well please tell me if you want me to make more models. And please tell me if you want me to give up.)

Keep going. While we might not be able to use all of your models, you're getting lots of great practice. And you're really improving.

Ehm...here's a quicky torch I did.I used Odowcar's idea.I think it is somewhere at the bolt-ons.

And here's an axe made with one of lutemoth's concept:

I think here's the concept:

I only modeled the axe from his hand.

Edit:Yeah I know these aren't by best models. But please post feddback. :| What am i supposed to do now?

While your models are great, you could choose to improve them here and there.

Are you any good at texturing? The models all look great, but with the same textures, they all look too similar. How about looking at the concepts and noticing any of the more unique details that are on the ideas and trying to incorperate those via textures?

Like in this picture:

You could add the wrapped handle to your model to bring it closer to the concept, or this picture:

You could change the wood texture to incorperate the engravings, and the metal texture to have the chipped edge and semi cirular line running around the inner edge.

And of course, each weapon has a specular and parralax map assigned to them (although Vern knows more about this than I), you could have a go at making those.

Although if texturing isn't your forte, I'd understand. Tried it myself once

I am not a good texturer. Those textures aren'tpermanent.I just put them there to look better.Did you prefer a grey model?I however get a little bored working on the same models over and over again...so.. :P

Edit:Ok.I give up!I will never be a modder here.Hope it wasn't another emotional brust.

Well I'm not sure why you're not a modder yet, you seem to have good modelling skills. However, having emotional outbursts and saying you're leaving to get attention won't make descisions any easier for the admins, mainly because, as Stalker has pointed out before, the admin dont want to have to baby sit people.

Why dont you just try to resolve a problem instead of brooding about it?

Surely you could have taken the initiative and simply contacted one of the core about this matter via a PM?

Ok...look!I don't want to crate any emotional out brusts or whatever they are.I think my skills aren't good enough. This is the only reason. And now I am sorry but I don't wanna' looklike a fool who is leaving and returning again.I passed this once...twice...but the third time?I don't care if I will be a TR modder or not.I just don't really have much fun modeling the same thing...

Although you're leaving, I'm going to comment on your work at least so you'll have something to improve on.

Your models are about average, I think. They follow the general shape of concept art you've used to create them closely enough, but they're just too "perfect" in the sense that the lines are all too straight for them to be realistic. In particular, this is visible in the wooden meshes, because wood is rarely crafted perfectly and it wears down. Orix already pointed out this for the textures, but it similarly applies to the mesh as well, although not to the same extent.

On texturing: I don't think one needs to be a great all-around modeler (mesher + texturer) to be a part of TR. If people are able to produce mass quantities of good quality meshes, someone else can texture them, provided that they're able to work together. In essence, the mesher should probably be able to build the UV map for the texture, based on which the texturer could work.

As for you not being a TR modder yet, I think it comes down to a few things. I just want to clear this up so that people don't think we'd be deliberately discriminating against you.

1) We have somewhat lacking moderation in the Showcase department. Morden has tried to recruit people to help, especially now that he's busy because of personal reasons. However, since the Showcase forum is still quite new, there's bound to be injustice that's only caused by us not being able to manage the forums.

2) We have been tightening the rules a bit as the Showcase thing has progressed. This was because we realized that we need modders whose errors we wouldn't have to fix as much as we're fixing now (with about 170 ints in reviewing etc).

3) Your past as a member of less than reputable status due to whatever reasons have led people to consider you as an unwanted member. Personally, I think issues like this are something to be the worst side of any modding community, because it ruins the fun of it if everyone else acts like an ass.

While you have improved on your social skills as well as modeling, there's still something to be desired in that area. Like Orix said, you could have just contacted one of the core members if you felt that your thread had gone unnoticed.

Dude, I can't even model! Be proud of yourself for what you have accomplished, not dissapointed and frustrated on what you have not. That is what gets people to move on.

At first when I joined, I thought this was too hard for me, and almost gave up modding entirely. But with a little willpower brought me a long way, and if you have some willpower to move on, I'm sure you'll be a valuable member. Actually you already are of value, your models look great.

Hope you stay.

Look.First of all well...people weren't really nice with me with some few exceptions.Second I don't think these models are that great.I want to know the true so that if I should modeled for TR I shouldn't have any problem when submitting meshes.Third I was always ignored when I have commed up with new ideas. The list can continue. As I said TR was a loss of time and it is only my fault. Please don't yell at me.And Zephyr. From now I will post my meshes untextured.I am not a texturer.Look at some of vernon's models. Most of the textures were made by Viking.

Horodnic please do us all a favour and decide either you are leaving or not. Your "I am leaving" posts are getting pretty much tiresome. This "I am leaving - I am not" game is actually raising your chances NOT to become TR Modder.
