Vholdrians Concept Art

Post by Vholdrian »

I've seen that some people made their own Topics where they post their art so i thought i would do that myself. Well, i'm new here in TR and i want to show you my drawings... Enjoy! (I hope)

This is a tower i'm working on. There might be towers in the next provinces you'll work on so i think i can post it. It is not final.

Some kind of sea creature. Combined an Elephant and a Whale to make this :P

People ask me to put my signature here. However, I do not want to write on my LCD screen. It's a good way to ruin a perfectly good screen. -M'aiq's little brother

Ah thank you for your welcome :)

Well, for the tower, i'll be posting a new drawing soon... and i hope that will make clear what it is. And yes, it is actually quite huge :P

(Fun to see a dutch one around here, i'm from Holland myself)

Liking that creatures, very unique, it'll be interesting to decide which province it belongs to, possibly Skyrim or something.

That tower is really huge, be careful not to design constructs that are seemingly impossibly huge... that said it could be a design for the Admantine tower or part of a major capital city in some province, I'm assuming your were aiming for a Hammerfell/High Rock design?
P.S. Please don't make handbags, wallets, belts or shoes out of Orix

Awoo! Wonderful tower concept, very majestic! I also can't wait to see what other mind-bending creatures you'll make; that marine beast is nothing but awesome! Welcome to the forum, by the way :]

I don't know where those big towers are... and in the beginning, it wasn't drawn with TES in mind. Just wanted to post it to show some of my work. Oh, and it would be cool as adamantine tower but wasn't there already a design for that one? Mayb i can create a architecture style for buildings and stuff like the style from the tower... ;) Just tell me what you want :P

I've drawn this building

It should be a house of a rich one... but only one should live in it. Otherwise it'll be too small. Its Hammerfell style (i think :P)

EDIT: Lol, you can even see some swords i had drawn on the other side of the paper.. plz don't mind them :P

Simple Photoshop edit. Mask out the crooked part and go to Edit -> Transform-> Distort (or skew). Works like a charm.

here is a 3d version I did of the tower. Some of the textures are weird but untill uniform hammerfell textures are set, these will do I guess. I did both tops. I think that the alternative is better.

I like the look of that Hammerfell house. :)

And the tower models look great Nalzay. They may need some more details for the oblivion engine, but most of that can be done using textures.

Try the Weekly Sketch Group topic.. right now they're geared towards designing the areas of western hammerfell.

http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/old_forum/viewtopic.php?t=15414

If that doesn't spark your interest... try drawing some of these essential buildings of Hammerfell:

Tavern
Temple
Merchant Shops
City Walls
House
Manor

At the moment, try and give these objects a desert feel. :)

This is a quick functional sketch of the tower i've posted before. As for the 'black shaded parts', they're ornaments which the evil inhabitants builded upon the original tower. My english sucks.

A Hammerfell style manor, as requested.

A few desert-style weapons. #1 is some kind of Scimitar, one handed, #2 is a claymore with a wooden grip, (two handed :P), #3 is a dagger, and the grip represents two wings, as you may have noticed, #4 is just an ordinary axe, quickly done.

UPDATE TO AVOID DOUBLE POSTING

A Hammefell style temple, as requested. (Front view)

The same temple as above, top view.

Some kind of tree, i call it a Lamp Tree. Should illuminate at night. I got inspired by the Sky Lamp creature on the front page.

I hope you like them :P

I believe you are alowed to double post if it is an update of somesort, but I'm not sure on this rule eather.

Art related, wonderful ideas. I love the tree, it glows during the night, pretty different. The temple also looked really nice, very good layout for the four sections of the building.

A dwemer ruin in the Alik'r desert. Or whatever the stupid desert is called. I would have uploaded the uncolored version if i hadn't lost it. :( The dwemer tower design is the same as Arthmodeus, he inspired me with his wonderful ideas.

A desert helm with glasses to protect your eyes against sand. Its made of wood, since some kind of metal would be damn hot in the desert :) (Oh and there is cloth wrapped around the wood - is that good english?) I got inspired by the Chitin helm, which protects your eyes against ash.

Same helm, but the glasses closer together, for smaller people :)

Well, thats that.

I think that dunmer corner the market on helms with built in glasses. It has an otherworldly look that only they can get away with. RL desert dwelers never wear goggles, they just cover thier nose and mouth with a scarf durring dust storms and squint (you get used to it).

Oh, thats too bad... well i'm sure that'll do, so i'll face other things for now.

Like this windmill, which seems to be featured in nearly every WSG 3 drawing, so i thought a more detailed view would be in place.

Uncolored

Poorly colored, to give you an idea of its coloring.

Actually, I like the colors a lot, its just the shading that might need to be done on a separate layer next time. The windmill blades also look really good, but i'm not sure about the Onion Dome on the top. Thats more of a fancy decorative i'm not sure you'd find on a desert windmill.

I've recently drawn this structure.

I thought it would be a kind of temple or large, very large settlement. Or some kind of Vivec canton thingy, but i think there isn't any other city in Tamriel (read: Hammerfell) that uses such an architecture.
I tried to use a different style of Islamic architecture. I did the shading and everything with just ordinary pencils, because i'm very bad at photoshop shading. If anyone wants to shade it with photoshop, feel free to do as you wish. My drawings are not copyrighted ;)
Please ignore the background, its just about the structure. About those deadric runes on the big tapestry, I just did something, I don't know the daedric alphabet. Too bad :P

(Now i scanned the drawing i realized that the dome isn't straight. I hate that. I really hate that. But I'll just upload it instead of drawing it all over again)

Enjoy, and give feedback plz *puppy eyes*

These are a few Hammerfell style light and torches and stuff, i thought they wouldn't be out of place here. :P

great stuff man... i really like the "expensive candle stick"

dont worry about the dome not being straight, it looks cool... i get things a bit slanted like that too since i draw with the paper slanted, lol

That temple is amazing! If its made I cant wait to stare up at the huge dome from the inside. I hadn't noticed it wasn't straight on the picture, although I'm sure the modeller wouldn't have any trouble making it... the asymmetry really gives the building character, I noticed you put various towers and protruding bits on the sides.

The location really does add to it as well, situated atop a high column of rock in what looks like a seaside cliff edge... good place for peace and worship.

I'm assuming it would be a temple for Redguards to worship the Yokudan gods? http://til.gamingsource.net/gods/yokuda.shtml Perhaps there could be a different temple (or a variation of your design) for each one, like there is for the Nine Devines in Oblivion.

The torches are all cool designs, loving that expensive candle stick and that torch with the bound handle, very unique!
P.S. Please don't make handbags, wallets, belts or shoes out of Orix

Very wonderful stuff, Vholdrian! I'd love to have a variety of these torches on hand, when traversing the countryside at night.

As well, the gargantuan temple is magnificent! To see that rising from the horizon would inspire any follower

Great job on the temple. :) Love the detail and the shading... though i do spy some letters from the Daedric alphabet on that banner :P
