I think the style would be suited to mountainous nomads. It's wieghtyness gives it a nice anchored look. Also it dosent look like armor for people who travel long distances quickly.
To differentiate from bone mold, the texture will be inportant. I have always pictured the horn-dog (or whatever your calling it now ) to have colors like those of sedementary sandstone- kind of like the colors on the grand canyon. The redish sandy colors would set it appart from bonemold. Maybe there is a better idea for the color, though.

You read my mind, Macar. The colour, as I'd pictured it, would be very reddish, rusty tone photo ex.
Morgoth has a point, though, seeing as I somewhat pictured this Yu'kasuu's dwelling habitat would triangulate between Sentinel, Janeth and Skaven, all too much of that is treacherous Alik'r. Personally, I'd rather be in a more forgiving climate with that heavy skin on.
I could try to redraw some regional armour, battle-clad equipment suitable for the hottest and the mildest areas. Of course, they wouldn't look alike in the same manner as bonemold, rather entirely different subcultures interpretations on how to use this beast's horn.

Here's such an example, hailing from Sunkeep. Perhaps the only armour to this set is the pauldrons and the helm.
in the meantime, I thought I'd take a whack at this whole arms and weaponry thing:

The first three are pretty self-explanatory, the one of the right is simply a club. All have been constructed out of basic wood and iron, painted and decorated

Oh, pishaw! That means a lot, Rowan, thankee!
and to update, here's a little somethin'-somethin' for the more fertile, tropical areas of Hammerfell:

His name is Dii'Ga (Dē'gä, Dee'gah), A forest dwelling mundus animal, bearing relation to the manta ray. The species makes use of it's claw-like nose to dig burrows in tree stumps and scavenge for roots/insects in earth/bark. The noticeably large eyes have a great protrusion, allowing the animal wide peripheral vision. The Dii'ga is socially aggressive, making competition with other dii'ga for mating rights.
[edit] The second image depicts a scrap between two competing Dii'ga, who attempt to scare the other by bluffing the size of their body/wingspan. If that doesn't work, the two try shoving and clawing, much like iguanas do. It appears the Dii'ga facing us is winning this battle.

You seem to be into deep sea preditors! That is an interesting creature, though. If it gets implemented, my one prayer is that they dont become like cliff racers!!

A bit too much in this case, as Silverwood pointed out, he would look more at home in Morrowind ashlander mountains

Cliff racer! AAAAAAAAARGH *draws bow* *shoots his last daedric arrows* *misses* *runs away, annoyed by the battle music that's still rambling* *curses cliff racer that got stuck in a tree* *Realizes it is a Dii'Ga* *laughs and shuts down the battle music*
Sorry, that was just crap.
I like the drawing. I can't wait to see such creatures on the Oblivion engine. The sound, the models, the animation... *whistle* can't wait
(This should be modelled, and it should get a decent AI, not one that gets blocked at every tree it passes )

I wonder if there will be flying creatures that can actualy land. Instead of legless wonders like the clifracers.

Yeah, lute's mind seems boundless (at least his ideas)
Whatever, i think, that you did a little bit too much shading and photoshop working on the second Dii'Ga drawing. The detail gets lost in that way. Ofcourse i wouldn't try to diss one of the pro's in here, but thats just what i'm thinking.

An art career? Hopefully doing designs for commercial use, most preferably in this genre right here (games, ect.)
And yeah, I agree on how there's too much shading, I can admit I was feeling too lazy to pencil in the shading prior

Lol... I know such feelings
Hehe, i've just realized that the Dii'Ga is pretty ugly (The animal itself, not the drawing ofcourse) I would scare the hell out of me if such a thing jumps in front of me when walking trough a forest at night (Think of pixel shading and dynamic shadows... brrrr i get cold)

hehe, I'm not exactly sure how aggressive their attitude is for intruders to their territory, but I'd guess they'd give you a run for your money if your near their nest eggs.
Here's a Hammerfell windmill, of low engineering design. Although it is much less efficient as other windmills, the mechanism is widely used with different architectures to hold it on place.

sorry for the double post
Heavily inspired by Scumbago's loverly scorpion atmosphere piece, Here's my own dungeon crawling story:

"I was on my last breath, as I had been dealt a windforce blow to the ground. My first mistake was underestimating this common bandit, as the incandescent light of my spilt lantern gave me my impression of him. His eyes were sunken and milky, but not in the ways of natural illness, no. His brute strength and haunting madness was the sole infection from the daedric sword, which he now slouched on his shoulder. Arrogant in his victory, he lazily wielded the blade above his head. This, of course, was his mistake, as both he and I quickly learnt there were more terrifying things lurking within this tomb."

Don't worry Macar, I'll support your admiration post policy!
Lute, I'm honored, and it's a great piece you made there.
P.S. Zephyr+Lutemoth= rather awesome combination.
Edit: OK, this idea just hit me (and threatened it'd hit me harder unless I posted it).
Bethesda made the 'Redguard comic' in order to lure people into buying 'Redguard', right?
So I thought, TR has an amount of talented artists. Pencilers, inkers, colorists, you name it. It also has an even greater number of inspired writers. Add these up and what do you get?
All that is required to make the same move Bethesda did, and dare I say, we can achieve far better results.
Now, take the final product (filled with stuff we are planning to use in HF) and stick it in the main page, underlining that what the visitor sees is a taste of things to come.
It should provide for some great ideas and definately for lots of fun for all involved, something like fresh air in a shut room.
Opinions please (suffice to say that anyone who disagrees is forbidden to post).

Lutemoth, I like truly like your mill(and your other work), but I have a few suggestions:
Those sails/blades need a more vertical angel, otherwise it would not work.
I've got an idea how this should work. You could place it in a canyon with mainly two wind directions(example:East and West).
You have two towers and both have a casing with millstones. In wind mills there is never more then one pair of stones active.
So when the wind comes from the east, one tower is active. If the wind comes from the west tower two is active.
I bet those millstones are in the top of the mill, grain must be transported up there, A pulley system is needed. These towers are quite slim, so need to be on the outside just above an opening. These pulley systems normally can hold a millstone for replacement.
Ow... and off course it not necessarily a grain-mill.
Well that's all...

A comic book would be a great idea! Certainly, we can detail artwork based on collaborated ideas of what we think a certain area might be, in the same way that Redguard hinted at the design of Morrowind and Black Marsh. In the same time we create this, we could possibly be opening up inspiration on the design (kinda like a crash-course in fleshing out the world)
And IPU, thankee for the input, as I'd made that first windmill was a good groundswork on what to improve on in the next design. And to be honest, despite the alternating millstone direction idea, I had no idea what they could be possibly used for, heheh

Here's a more recent concept, I have one or two more I might add on later. All of this was incited by Macar's inspirational thespian concepts, and some play on certain styles of mask-wear and art:

This eccentric fellow is acting out his part as the mage's apprentice. The mask fits on like a full helm, vision limited only from the mouth. I would assume the Redguard open theatre would be very similar in Roman pantomime comedies, where the actors use actions and symbols than words, often in political commentary

Kind of creepy. Is the actor meant to be a child? I get that for some reason. Maybe it's because the mask makes his head look big.
We do see eye to eye on the style of Yakudan theatre. I imagine characters who play comdeia del'arte-esque archetypes and stylised kabuki-like acting. Also, it seems like the redgaurds would be the type to enjoy biting political satire.

Took the words right out of my mouth, Macar! Like passing by a punch and judy, or better yet, a street preformance greek comedy, I would love to see these entertainers gathering together in the game, acting out a routine, while the RAI script allows the citizens to stop and react, or take schedules to watch.Macar wrote: I imagine characters who play comdeia del'arte-esque archetypes and stylised kabuki-like acting. Oh, don't worry about the headsize, like caricatures, the masks are intentionally made huge for the audience.

And on that note, here's the depiction of a typical dunmer. More often than not, ethnicities as well as factions are stereotyped severely.
