... Isn't there a way to express the importance of water just through lay out and modding and adding all kinds of extra needs.
People could even sell potions that are bottles of water, maybe they fortiufy yer endurance. At least in these ways water seems very important, but we don't forcr the player to carry water.

Actually, that seems like a pretty good idea.
Like in Morrowind, everyone talks about how terrible the blight is, but as far as gameplay went, it was either one of several types of diseases that was easily cured, or a big cloud looking thing that slowed you down if you walked in the direction of Red Mountain. But all the while, one of the towns had a Cure Blight shortage, and someone in another was hording them.

Not exactly following the discussion, but really i hate this fast travel option. They did it in Arena but just because with 486dx2 (computer of those early times) it was impossible to do better, but actually?
İ am really afraid about the lack of immersion. Maybee it will just act like teleportation, i hope.
Somebody has more info?

Well, they did point out that it is optional. You can still walk the whole way. That's what I will do. In morrowind I almost never used stiltstriders, boats, ect.
I can imagine when it might be nice. For example, I had a character who had beaten the game (including bloodmoon and Tribunal) but hadnt joined a great house. So I decided to make her join redoran. next thing I know I was wandering all over the freaking ashlands looking for some pathetic guarheard who needed a button sewed on, or some crap like that. I was the freaking neravarine/hortator for goodness sake!
Anyway, my point is, fast travel would have been nice then. And did anyone else spend over 8 hours looking for the Ushiarku tomb?

And still do. On both quests. And I have completed MW around 10 times !Macar wrote:Anyway, my point is, fast travel would have been nice then. And did anyone else spend over 8 hours looking for the Ushiarku tomb?
Anyway because we're likely not to be able to sleep outside w\o a bed we could have something like "A soft grass" activator near oasises for player to sleep. (c)Proweler But that of course if Alik'r would be a wee bit more than 5 cells which, it seems, it is going to be with Ob scale.

Your friendly slavedriver.

I don't know why everyone keeps whining about how small the Alik'r will be. Your arguements hold no water when you remember that Morrowind is closer to 5 square miles than 10, making their estimation of Cyrodiil more than 3 times as large as Vvardenfell, and thus the same scale.

well if the Alik'r wont be so big, than people wont have to worry about water when they're crossing it, unles they take a detour that'll make the trip a lot longer... but i really prefer what The Old Ye Bard has said about blacking out and reapearing at the nearest town, cuz it would too much of dying ... or just weakening the player as a disease ("thirst" for instance)
