Leaving for a little bit

Post by sirwootalot123 »

I'm so damn busy with schoolwork (huge college-level analyses of three books, a play, and the boring movie "pride and prejiduce") that, from this point on, you wont see me around until friday afternoon at the earliest - just thought i'd let you all know. ive got most of the remaining plot for the TR comic book swimming in my head, but I wont be able to put it down till i'm back.

If I dont get at least Cs in all my AP (hard-as-hell college-level) classes, most of which are currently Ds, the new computer wont be coming in at all - and we all know that that would bring the apocalypse, of course.

AP does stand for advanced placement, but most colleges accept APs for credit in classes. APs are graded on a scale of 1-5, 3 or above being passing on the test. Depending on the college, credit will be given for 3+, 4+, 5, or not at all.

well, damn, pulling an all-nighter and treating myself to a little break right now. Espresso truly is ambrosia. :)
This workload is truly insane, but with a gallon or two of coffee I will survive. Glad to see people would actually miss me. :-P

Don't waste your effort on APs sirwoot. I work in a college admissions office and see everything that goes on, you're far better off taking regular courses and getting A's than AP courses and getting C's or D's. They barely make any difference to the admissions councelors, schools take very few AP credits, and then usually only if you get a 4+

And to boot, college courses, except for maybe Lit and english courses, are simply not nearly as hard as AP courses in high school.

Take it from someone with experience and save yourself alot of pain.

Maybe in your school I had 33 hours of AP credit when I went to college and it made life way easier. I did not have to take craploads of classes. My wife had 24 AP credits when she went to college.

I graduated with honors from my university precisely because of AP credits. (If you get a 5 on the AP tests is counts as an honors class in college, and then you can meet the requirement for honors in every major discipline.) I got 5's on all but the calculus, and psychology which I got 4s on. Calc was hard, but pshych was incredibly easy, I didn't even study I just bs'ed the AP test and it worked Woot!
